Company insights, generated from the most recent coverage.
H1 FY27 retail protection APE grew 47.2% and annuity APE 50%, with the ex-GST cost-to-premium ratio down 30 bps — quality of new business is improving even as headline VNB growth decelerates.
Q2 FY27 VNB margin of 25.43% is up from 24% a year earlier but down from Q1's 26.7%, and VNB of ₹712 Cr missed estimates — the market punished the miss (stock -4% off its high to ₹446.30) rather than the 25% PAT jump.
Trading at ₹446.30 against a 52-week low of ₹441.80 and 37% below its high, ICICI Life is priced as a broken franchise despite 25% PAT growth and 16.6% premium growth — a valuation gap driven by VNB-margin narrative, not earnings.
