
Nasdaq-listed Octave Intelligence plc has inaugurated its 2-lakh-sq-ft Technology and Innovation Centre in Hyderabad, marking a significant expansion of the company's global operations. According to reports from Business Standard, the facility will serve as a key global technology and innovation hub for Octave, with plans to scale its workforce to 2,000 engineers across software, AI, data and cloud capabilities. The centre is strategically located in HITEC City and includes an Experience Centre and office spaces across multiple floors, with the facility specifically designed to develop technologies for customers across asset-intensive industries including energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, utilities and transportation.
Mattias Stenberg, Chief Executive Officer of Octave, emphasized the facility's role in the company's growth strategy, stating that the centre represents an investment in people and capabilities that will help shape Octave's future. As reported by Business Standard, the facility was inaugurated by Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Industries & Commerce and Legislative Affairs, Government of Telangana, alongside other senior leaders. The centre will contribute to Octave's global technology and innovation operations across software engineering, AI, data, cloud and product development, with the facility also housing an Experience Centre showcasing the company's industrial intelligence and AI solutions.
The facility positions Octave alongside global engineering and industrial technology leaders such as Schneider Electric, ABB, Siemens, Honeywell and PTC that have built significant technology capabilities in Hyderabad. As reported by Business Standard, the Hyderabad team will contribute to technologies and solutions delivered to Octave's customers worldwide, particularly across industries where complex assets and infrastructure require real-time intelligence and data-driven decision-making. Octave serves around 4,500 customers across 180 countries, including more than 60 per cent of the Global Fortune 500, showcasing the company's global reach and market position in industrial technology solutions.
The launch reflects Hyderabad's growing prominence as a destination for global companies establishing their first Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in India. According to Business Standard, Hyderabad absorbed more than 46% of all new capability centres established in the country in the past year, with companies such as Charles Schwab, The Hartford, Nationwide, L'Oréal, Vanguard, T-Mobile and Southwest Airlines making their India entry through Hyderabad. The city welcomed 75 new GCCs last year and is targeting 100 more by next year. The hiring outlook among global capability centres (GCCs) in India remains positive for FY27, with 52% of GCCs planning to expand their workforce in FY27, up from 47% in the previous fiscal year, according to the annual GCC survey by Taggd, in partnership with CII.
