Nazara Technologies and Virstate have officially launched Bodycam UEFN, the official Bodycam game adaptation for Fortnite, to players worldwide. According to reports from Business Standard, the game was developed under agreement with Reissad Studio and is now available globally. Built using Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), the game brings the franchise's signature body-camera perspective, intense close quarters combat, realistic atmosphere, and high-pressure multiplayer gameplay into Fortnite. The game is available through Fortnite Discover by searching for Bodycam or by entering the island code 9784-3946-5466. As per Business Upturn, the game retains the unique body-camera perspective and fast-paced multiplayer gameplay that Bodycam is known for, while introducing it to the expansive Fortnite platform. Bodycam UEFN is designed as an official expansion of the Bodycam universe, built as a free-to-play gateway into its world, created specifically for Fortnite's ecosystem. The project is not a replacement for the original Bodycam PC experience but serves as a new way for existing fans to experience the franchise while introducing new generation of players to the Bodycam world.
Nitish Mittersain, MD & CEO of Nazara Technologies, emphasized the strategic significance of this launch, stating that Bodycam UEFN represents Nazara's first build inside Fortnite and marks just the beginning of their Fortnite development strategy. As reported by Business Standard, Mittersain noted that Fortnite has become one of the largest discovery platforms globally, and Nazara intends to build there at scale. He praised Reissad for raising the bar with an experience that is raw, immersive, and visually stunning. The collaboration brings together three different strengths: Virstate handled development using Unreal Editor for Fortnite, while Reissad Studio owns the Bodycam IP, and Nazara has taken on the publishing role for the Fortnite adaptation. According to Business Upturn, Mittersain remarked that "Bodycam UEFN is Nazara's first build inside Fortnite, marking just the beginning of our venture into this massive discovery platform. Through this, we aim to redefine the expectations of what players can experience inside Fortnite, especially for major gaming IPs."
The game is engineered on Unreal Engine 5.3, utilizing custom-built maps, multiplayer modes, and long-term progression metrics to drive user retention. At launch, Bodycam UEFN features Russian Building, one of the most recognizable environments from the original game, recreated for Fortnite with a focus on authenticity, atmosphere, visual fidelity, and fast tactical encounters. The map is designed for high-pressure close-quarters combat where positioning, reflexes, sound awareness, and precision determine the outcome of every fight. The adaptation introduces Bodycam's photorealistic and high-stakes tactical shooter concept to a massive global audience through Fortnite's cross-platform network. The game includes three multiplayer modes: Free For All, Team Deathmatch, and Gun Game, with the Russian Building map recreated from the original Bodycam game for Fortnite. According to the company's exchange filing, the experience features ranks, weapon unlocks, rewards and other progression features, with further updates, seasonal content, community events and additional gameplay modes planned.
Studio Director at Reissad, Luca Dassier, highlighted the partnership's focus on future technology, stating that "Partnering with Nazara Technologies and Virstate has enabled us to explore the capabilities of Unreal Engine 6 and the new programming language, Verse, positioning us for future advancements in gaming." According to Business Upturn, Bodycam UEFN is available on Fortnite as an independently created island, developed and published by Nazara Technologies and Virstate. It is important to note that it is neither sponsored nor endorsed by Epic Games, Inc. Fortnite and related marks are trademarks of Epic Games. Nazara Technologies is shifting its strategy from focus on self-developed gaming titles toward global IP publishing partnerships in popular user-generated content sandbox ecosystems. The company's platform-convergence push leverages pre-existing platforms to circumvent high user acquisition costs typical of mobile-first games. With Bodycam UEFN, Nazara Technologies aims to raise expectations of what players can experience inside Fortnite and demonstrate how major gaming IPs can use UEFN as a serious platform for franchise expansion.
