Tata Capital Healthcare Fund III (TCHF III) and Swiss investor Blue Earth Capital AG announced a $30 million investment in Tenet Medcorp (Tenet Diagnostics) for an undisclosed equity stake. According to reports from Company Business News, this investment marks one of the first deployments from TCHF III's newly closed Fund III, which achieved its first close earlier this year. The investment comes at a time when major listed diagnostics players such as Metropolis Healthcare and Dr Lal PathLabs are deepening their focus on tier-2 and tier-3 markets while pursuing pan-India growth. For Tenet, the fundraising marks a validation of a business that has expanded rapidly in less than a decade, with Chairman Suresh Devineni describing the investment as an endorsement of the platform built over the past eight years.
Tenet Diagnostics was founded in 2018 by Sricharan Devineni and has emerged as a leading integrated diagnostics platform focused on building a nationwide network of high-quality radiology and pathology centres. As reported by Company Business News, the company currently operates more than 35 diagnostic centres across 14 states, with a pan-India B2B laboratory network, and over 3,000 superspecialty tests. The platform has been built under the leadership of founder and managing director Sricharan Devineni, who plans to use the funding to deepen Tenet's footprint across India. Managing Director Sricharan Devineni stated that the partnership would help the company extend access to quality diagnostics across India, aligning with broader trends in Indian healthcare where consolidation among diagnostic chains and expansion into Tier-II and Tier-III cities are gathering pace.
According to the fund announcement, this investment will fuel Tenet's next phase of growth amid rising private equity interest in healthcare, ongoing consolidation among chains, and the sector's push into specialised care and smaller cities. As reported by Company Business News, the company plans to deepen its presence in existing markets, strengthen its B2B network, and pursue acquisitions. TCHF noted that diagnostics is increasingly becoming a consumer-driven category where patients value speed, transparency, and accuracy, with Tenet's growth backed by strong accreditation and a balanced mix of B2B and B2C business. Visalakshi Chandramouli, Managing Partner at Tata Capital Healthcare Fund, emphasized that diagnostics has emerged as one of the most attractive segments within Indian healthcare, driven by rising health awareness, growing demand for preventive testing and expansion into smaller cities. She highlighted that under Sricharan's leadership, Tenet has built one of the fastest-growing integrated diagnostics platforms in India, a model still rare at this scale.
TCHF III is the healthcare-focused private equity arm of Tata Capital Ltd, founded in 2010. According to the fund announcement, it has raised and manages about $400 million across Funds I and II, and at the first close of Fund III, it has invested in 20 companies and achieved 8 successful exits. In its previous fund, Fund II, the firm invested in companies such as medical device maker Harsoria Healthcare, generics formulations company Orbicular Pharmaceutical Technologies, Noble Plus, as well as diagnostics chains such as Atulaya Healthcare and Anderson Diagnostic Services. The fresh capital will be used to support Tenet's next phase of expansion, including deeper penetration in existing markets, strengthening its laboratory network and pursuing acquisitions and other inorganic growth opportunities.
Veda Corporate Advisors served as the exclusive financial advisor to Tenet Diagnostics and its shareholders on this transaction, as reported by Company Business News. TCHF III achieved its first close on February 20, 2026, positioning the fund to continue backing disciplined growth in the healthcare sector with its 'capital-plus' approach of contributing expertise and network to power companies' next stage of growth. The deal also underscores the continued momentum in healthcare-focused private equity, with investors increasingly backing specialized platforms with scalable models and a strong presence in underserved markets.
