Voice artificial intelligence startup Ringg AI has successfully raised $10 million as an extension to its Series A funding round, according to reports from The Hindu BusinessLine, TechCrunch, and AI Chat Daily. The funding round was led by Peak XV Partners, with participation from Arkam Ventures and Capital 2b. This brings the total Series A funding to $15.5 million, following the startup's earlier $5.5 million raise earlier this year. The Bengaluru-headquartered company, originally founded as DesiVocal and later rebranded to Ringg AI, was founded in October 2023 by Siddharth Shankar Tripathi (formerly with Groww and Flipkart), Utkarsh Shukla (ex-Blinkit and Atlan), and Kali CV (ex-Flipkart), is also backed by Kunal Shah. The startup is currently working with major enterprises including Policybazaar, CRED, Flipkart, Groww, Practo, Tabby, SuperNova, and GoodScore.
The new capital will be strategically deployed to strengthen Ringg's AI platform and expand its voice, WhatsApp and browser agents across multiple channels. As reported by AI Chat Daily, Ringg now processes 20 million call attempts per month and has achieved significant scale with its voice agents. The platform addresses enterprise needs by integrating voice, WhatsApp and browser agents into a unified enterprise solution that enables automation of customer conversations and business workflows. According to AI Chat Daily, a Truecaller study cited by the company found that 76% of Indian consumers prefer talking to businesses over a phone call — a preference that keeps voice at the center of customer workflows even as chat channels expand. Unlike basic chatbots, these agents can understand context across customer interactions, company rules, and internal systems, enabling businesses to automate processes such as lead qualification, onboarding, customer support, collections, and renewals while allowing human teams to intervene when required.
According to AI Chat Daily, Ringg's agents are currently in production at major enterprises including Policybazaar, CRED, Flipkart, Groww, Practo, Tabby, SuperNova, and GoodScore. The platform serves customers across marketplaces, healthcare, banking, fintech and IT sectors. The agents are designed to handle noisy calls, switch across languages, and complete real workflows while sharing context across customer conversations, business rules and enterprise systems. As per The Hindu BusinessLine, Founder and CEO Siddharth Tripathi emphasized that enterprises purchase Ringg based on measurable improvements rather than demos, stating "Nobody buys us because the demo sounds good. They buy us because onboarding improves, resolution times fall, or qualified leads start showing up in the CRM without someone having to make the call." The company helps businesses automate support and outreach through an orchestration layer that routes tasks to various voice models to achieve end-to-end task completion for clients. According to AI Chat Daily, Ringg's voice calls still generate over 70% of revenue, with chat, WhatsApp, and browser-based support automation filling out the rest.
As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine and TechCrunch, Ringg is building proprietary AI infrastructure including speech-to-text models (Parrot) and small language models. The platform supports in-region deployments across India, the GCC, the US and Europe, as well as on-premise deployments. This approach provides enterprises greater control over cost, compliance and data residency requirements. The platform has been built for enterprise environments that typically expose the limitations of AI agents, including noisy calls, customers switching languages mid-conversation, asynchronous WhatsApp interactions, browser workflows spanning multiple enterprise applications, strict latency requirements and regulated data environments. According to AI Chat Daily, the company deliberately moved away from the commoditized end of the market, with Co-founder Siddharth Tripathi noting that early work on outbound calling, lead qualification, and loan collection was easy to win but easy to lose on price. The company employs 40 people, having hired more than 15 in the last three months, with roles skewed toward forward-deployed engineers and researchers focused on driving down inference costs.
According to AI Chat Daily, Ringg is now targeting stickier workflows including appointment booking for healthcare clinics, abandoned-cart recovery for e-commerce, and know-your-customer checks for fintech apps. The company's voice agent runs across 1,200 clinics for Practo, handling patient bookings and post-visit follow-ups, while for Shell, the agent automates browser-based support requests. Most customers sit in India, with a smaller footprint in the Middle East and the United States. Rather than sell directly into the US, Ringg is partnering with Global Capability Centers to sell automation capacity alongside human staff. As per AI Chat Daily, Peak XV's Rishen Kapoor noted that Ringg's research-lab origins allow it to take on harder enterprise workflows end-to-end, completing higher-value tasks like merchant onboarding and L1 and L2 support with quality and consistency. The Indian voice AI market is crowded and stratifying, with model makers Deepgram, ElevenLabs, and Cartesia competing with local players Sarvam and Smallest.ai, while orchestration startups like Bolna and Blue Machines occupy the same middle tier as Ringg.
