JLL Business Services (JBS) has inaugurated a 120,000 sq ft global capability centre in Hyderabad's Financial District, according to reports from The Economic Times. The facility spans two floors in the Prestige Sky Tech building, serving as JBS's second hub in India after Gurugram. The centre is expected to scale to 1,600 employees over the next few years, positioning Hyderabad as a key operational base for the integrated operations delivery platform. As per JLL, the investment aligns with the company's long-term business transformation strategy and reflects growing confidence in India's talent ecosystem.
Matthew Rees, chief shared service centre officer at JBS, highlighted the strategic importance of Hyderabad's location as reported by The Economic Times. He emphasized that with operations spanning six countries and a workforce of over 6,500, JBS has evolved into JLL's strategic operations powerhouse. The facility will deliver mission-critical services including advanced analytics, technology-enabled solutions and advisory capabilities across finance, human resources, project management, lease administration and business process optimisation. JLL executives said the new centre will play a key role in supporting the company's global operations by combining skilled talent with AI-enabled workflows and operational excellence.
The Hyderabad GCC has begun operations by supporting JLL's property management business across Asia and its global finance and controllership teams, as reported by The Economic Times. JLL has already onboarded more than 150 employees and is hiring across multiple functions. The company aims to build the Hyderabad centre into an AI-first operations hub, with employees using AI tools to improve productivity and deliver higher-value services for clients worldwide. The centre will support JLL's businesses and clients globally, with work spanning finance, HR, property management, global controllership, project management, architectural and design support, cost management, investment modelling, sales enablement, technology support and other business functions.
D. Sridhar Babu, Minister for IT, Electronics & Communications, Government of Telangana, inaugurated the facility on Thursday, as reported by The Economic Times. The minister highlighted that Telangana has welcomed nearly 150 GCCs in the last 20 months, creating over 1.5 lakh high-value technology jobs. He noted that while technology companies globally are restructuring traditional IT operations, Hyderabad continues to demonstrate that innovation-led GCCs are a powerful engine for investment, resilience and high-value job creation. According to JLL, Telangana's focus remains on creating future-ready employment as technologies such as artificial intelligence and automation reshape industries.
Globally, JLL Business Services operates six delivery centres across Dalian (China), Manila (Philippines), Gurugram (India), Hyderabad (India), Warsaw (Poland) and Costa Rica, employing around 7,000 people, as reported by The Economic Times. Gurugram remains its largest centre. According to JLL data, Hyderabad accounted for 16% of the nation's total GCC leasing activity during the 2024 to mid-2026 period, as reported by Business Standard. GCCs accounted for 42% of all office leasing activity in Hyderabad. The sector breakdown shows financial services and insurance companies leading at 34.5%, followed by technology firms at 23.2%, healthcare and biotechnology companies at 17%, and engineering research and development operations at 12.1%.
