While higher interest rates can improve returns, investors should compare factors such as deposit tenure, premature withdrawal rules, liquidity requirements and payout options before making an investment decision. As noted by TopNews, the interest rates mentioned are applicable to senior citizen fixed deposits below ₹3 crore and are based on rates effective as of 1 July 2026. FD rates are subject to change at the discretion of banks, and some small finance banks offer interest rates of up to 8.50 per cent, but investors should consider deposit safety, liquidity requirements and their overall financial goals before investing.
