The final bill including GST at 3% (₹4,680) would range from ₹1.60 lakh to ₹1.69 lakh, demonstrating how making charges significantly impact the final buying value of gold jewellery. For 10 grams of 22 karat jewellery at ₹13,401 per gram with a 12% making charge, the total cost would be ₹1,54,594, while at 18% making charge, it would reach ₹1,62,876, representing a difference of ₹17,944 or approximately 12% of the cheaper bill.
