MakeMyTrip and Axis Bank have launched a comprehensive travel benefits programme targeting long weekends throughout the year. According to reports from Business Standard, the partnership offers recurring travel benefits across multiple holiday periods, with discounts available on flights, hotels, holiday packages, buses, cabs, tours and attractions when booked through MakeMyTrip and paid with an Axis Bank credit card. The programme will run through March 2027, with dedicated booking windows opening ahead of each eligible long weekend.
For domestic flights, Axis Bank credit cardholders receive a flat 10% instant discount, capped at ₹1,800. As reported by Business Standard, domestic hotel bookings offer a 15% discount, capped at ₹5,000. The programme also includes similar benefits for international flights, buses, cabs, tours and attractions, though specific offers vary by category and booking window. The discounts are not available continuously but are tied to specific booking windows ahead of each eligible long weekend.
The biggest potential savings are available on holiday packages, with customers receiving an additional 5% instant discount over and above existing MakeMyTrip holiday offers, capped at ₹20,000. According to Business Standard, this means a ₹3 lakh eligible holiday package could potentially qualify for a ₹15,000 additional discount, subject to applicable terms and conditions. The maximum additional saving under the offer is ₹20,000.
The programme covers several key long weekends throughout the year, as reported by Business Standard. The covered dates include Gandhi Jayanti: October 2–4, 2026, Dussehra: October 18–20, 2026, Diwali: November 7–9, 2026, Christmas: December 25–27, 2026, New Year: January 1–3, 2027, Republic Day: January 24–26, 2027, Holi: March 20–22, 2027, and Good Friday: March 26–28, 2027.
According to Business Standard, the applicable benefits, including minimum booking values and detailed terms and conditions, will be displayed on MakeMyTrip's app and website ahead of each go-live date. Vinit Bajaj, Group Head – Acquiring and Cards at Axis Bank, emphasized that the partnership aims to give cardholders more value from their spending, particularly as customers increasingly use long weekends for short breaks. Raj Rishi Singh, Chief Operating Officer – Flights, Corporate, GCC & Marketing at MakeMyTrip, described the initiative as building value around the right moment when travellers are making booking decisions.
