India's benchmark indices recovered from early losses on Wednesday, with the BSE Sensex climbing 117.54 points to settle at 75,318.39 and the NSE Nifty edging higher by 41 points to end at 23,659. According to market reports, the recovery was driven by a rally in index heavyweight Reliance Industries, despite investor caution due to higher crude prices and a weaker rupee. Market expert Raja Venkatraman of NeoTrader has identified three stocks for trading opportunities, recommending specific buy and sell levels for May 21.
Venkatraman's recommendations include Indigo Paints (₹985 buy, ₹940 stop, ₹1090 target), ABB (₹6625 buy, ₹6400 stop, ₹7250 target), and Timken India (₹3660 buy, ₹3550 stop, ₹3985 target). As reported by NeoTrader, Indigo Paints is a debt-free decorative paint company with a P/E ratio of 10.41 and 52-week high of ₹220.59, while ABB is a Swiss-Swedish multinational with P/E ratio of 91.07 and 52-week high of ₹7824.95. Timken India is a subsidiary of The Timken Company with a P/E ratio of 69.23 and 52-week high of ₹3675.
On May 20, Indian markets ended in the red with the Sensex slipping 160.73 points to close at 75,237.99 and the Nifty declining 46.10 points to settle at 23,643.50. According to market reports, weakness was seen across metal, oil-linked, PSU bank and realty stocks, while 2,381 stocks declined against 1,631 advancing, indicating broad-based selling pressure. Sectoral indices mirrored the downturn, with Nifty Metal falling nearly 2% and PSU Bank, Realty and Oil & Gas posting sharp declines.
The technical analysis reveals specific support and resistance levels for each recommendation. Indigo Paints shows support at ₹915 and resistance at ₹1210, while ABB has support at ₹6000 and resistance at ₹1250. Timken India demonstrates support at ₹3450 and resistance at ₹3850. As noted by Venkatraman, risk factors include structural competition for Indigo Paints, margin pressure from raw material inflation for ABB, and premium valuation concerns for Timken India. The recommendations are based on technical patterns and momentum indicators, with specific timeframes ranging from 2 days to 2 months for target achievement.
