Brokerage house Nuvama expects healthy wholesale growth across passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, commercial vehicles and tractors in June 2026 despite seasonal challenges. As reported by The Financial Express, the brokerage noted that "We reckon the wholesales uptrend shall sustain in Jun-26 despite the inauspicious period (Adhik Maas) for a part of the month." PV volumes are likely to expand over 20% while 2Ws, CVs and tractors to post growth of over 10%, according to Nuvama's analysis. Positive developments in Asian markets also boosted sentiment and added momentum to domestic equities.
Within the passenger vehicle segment, Nuvama expects demand to remain strong and is supported by new product launches and improved financing conditions. According to the brokerage report, PV industry volumes likely to log double-digit growth in June 2026. Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles is expected to post volume growth of around 55% year-on-year, while Mahindra & Mahindra's automotive business could see growth of about 24%. Maruti Suzuki India is also expected to report growth, although at a comparatively slower pace. The sustained buying across sectors helped benchmarks remain near intraday highs, with movement in auto and realty stocks likely to remain in focus for investors.
The brokerage remains constructive on the two-wheeler segment, noting that 2W industry volumes shall expand in double digits in Jun-26. Among listed players, TVS Motor Company and Eicher Motors' Royal Enfield division are expected to deliver some of the strongest growth rates, with Bajaj Auto also projected to report healthy volume expansion. However, Hero MotoCorp may see slightly softer numbers due to a high base effect from the previous year. For commercial vehicles, Nuvama expects CV industry volumes anticipated to grow in double digits in Jun-26, with Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles expected to outperform peers. The positive momentum was supported by broader market strength, with InterGlobe Aviation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation shares rallying in the range of 1% to above 3% as Brent crude slipped to a fresh low of around $72 per barrel.
Despite the strong benchmark rally, market breadth remained weak with 1,705 stocks declining against 1,421 advancing on the NSE, while 102 stocks were unchanged. Nifty Auto surged 3% to lead the gains, while Nifty Realty advanced nearly 2% and Nifty Private Bank rose over 1%. The broader market momentum was supported by strong buying in auto and realty stocks, with the Nifty Midcap 100 index up 0.27% and Nifty Smallcap 200 slipped into the red at 12:12 pm on Thursday. The sectoral performance reflects selective buying patterns across different market segments, with auto and realty stocks outperforming while broader mid and smallcap segments faced selling pressure.
