The Indian stock market is set to conduct the ceremonial special Muhurat Trading session 2026 on Sunday, November 8, 2026, with the session beginning at 2:20 PM and ending at 3:30 PM. According to latest reports from The Economic Times, BSE and NSE announced the special market session last month, with the session following a comprehensive trading schedule that includes pre-open session from 2:05 PM to 2:20 PM, normal market session from 2:20 PM to 3:30 PM, and closing auction session from 3:30 PM to 3:40 PM. Market observers expect the key indices to continue their strong performance streak, with both Sensex and Nifty 50 having ended higher for the last eight successive ceremonial sessions over the past decade. The decadal strike rate for both indices stands at 80%, with expectations to rise to 90% in the current session.
Historical data from HDFC Sky reveals that the Nifty 50 index closed lower than its previous close on just five occasions from 2006 to 2025: 2007, 2009, 2012, 2016, and 2017. The Sensex finished lower on just four occasions during the same period: 2007, 2012, 2016, and 2017. As reported by LiveMint, both indices have been finishing higher since 2018, establishing a consistent positive trend that market participants expect to continue. Recent trading data shows cash market turnover reaching ₹19,714.12 crore on October 21, 2025, demonstrating the growing participation in these ceremonial sessions.
Sumeet Bagadia, Executive Director at Choice Broking, provided technical analysis for the Nifty 50 index at the beginning of Samvat 2083. According to LiveMint reports, the index has immediate support at 24,800–24,850 and resistance around 25,130–25,200. Bagadia noted that call OI is concentrated around 25,000–25,200 and put OI around 24,800–25,000, with the broader bias remaining positive despite potential profit booking or consolidation following the sharp rally.
