Shriram Finance was recommended as a 'Buy on Dips' by Upadhyay, who described it as a good investment opportunity amid a strong commercial vehicle sector. As reported by NDTV Profit, Upadhyay noted that NBFC and lending companies are performing well, and the festive season approaching should benefit the lending book. The company is expanding gold and small business loans into hundreds of new branches, since only about 15% of its 3,225-branch network currently offers the full product suite. Used commercial vehicle prices have jumped 30-35% over five years, with demand surprising to the upside on strong freight activity. Management is guiding for 15-17% commercial vehicle growth over the next five years, with new vehicle financing set to take a bigger share of the mix. Upadhyay recommends buying on dips at ₹1,025 with a stop loss at ₹985.
HDFC Bank received a 'Buy' recommendation from Agarwal, who noted that despite recent negative news about performance and top management, the stock remains attractive for long-term investors. As reported by NDTV Profit, Agarwal highlighted that HDFC Bank is one of the ten largest banks in terms of size with consistent numbers and very good asset quality. He emphasized that there would be a hunt for a new head, with uncertainty about who will be appointed, but noted there is not much to lose in this for long-term investors.
