Ace investor Vijay Kedia has likely exited his stake in small-cap stock Precision Camshafts, an auto components and equipment manufacturer, during the third quarter of financial year 2025-26 (Q3FY26). According to reports from Mint, Kedia held the stake through his investment firm Kedia Securities, which was not among the key shareholders in the latest December shareholding pattern. In the September 2025 quarter, Kedia Securities held 10,00,000 shares or a 1.05% stake in Precision Camshafts. As per Sebi regulations, companies are mandated to disclose only shareholders who own 1% or more stake in the firm, indicating Kedia has either completely exited or his holding has slipped below the 1% threshold.
Data from Trendlyne shows Kedia's stake has declined dramatically from 3.2% in the year-ago quarter to below 1% currently. As reported by Mint, Vijay Kedia publicly holds 15 stocks with a combined net worth of over ₹1,106.60 crore. The exit from Precision Camshafts represents a strategic portfolio adjustment by the renowned investor in the small-cap auto components sector.
Since the release of the shareholding data on January 7, Precision Camshafts' share price has been trading in the red. According to Mint, the stock lost 3.5% in intraday trade on January 9, taking the two-day fall to over 7%. Recent performance data shows the stock declining 3.05% in one day and 10.10% over five days. The stock has been on a downtrend for the fourth consecutive month after rallying 13% in September 2025, coinciding with broader market selloff conditions affecting small-cap stocks.
Despite recent weakness, Precision Camshafts presents a mixed long-term picture. Latest data shows the small-cap stock has declined 56.87% over one year and 43% over two years. However, on a five-year basis, Precision Camshafts has emerged as a multibagger stock with impressive 233.69% gains, demonstrating significant historical outperformance despite current challenges. The stock showed a marginal 0.97% gain over one month but declined 26.38% over six months.
In the second quarter of financial year 2026 (Q2FY26), Precision Camshafts posted mixed financial results. The company reported a consolidated net profit of ₹13.16 crore compared to ₹8.40 crore in the year-ago period, marking a significant 56.67% increase in profitability. However, according to Mint, the company's revenue from operations declined to ₹198.18 crore compared with ₹225.06 crore on a year-on-year basis, representing an 11.94% decline, indicating revenue pressure despite improved profit margins.
