Infrastructure major Larsen & Toubro has completed a significant acquisition of 2.0875 crore units of Nxt-Infra Trust for ₹199 crore through an open market transaction on Tuesday. According to NSE bulk deal data, the Mumbai-based SEBI-registered Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT) saw L&T purchase these units at an average price of ₹95.33 per unit. The transaction represents one of the larger bulk deals in the InvIT sector, demonstrating continued institutional interest in infrastructure investment vehicles. Nxt-Infra Trust is sponsored by Actis Highway Infra Ltd, part of the Actis Group, a global investor focused on sustainable infrastructure. As per latest reports, Actis Group was formed in 2004 following its spin-out from CDC Group plc, and invests worldwide across energy infrastructure, long-life infrastructure, digital infrastructure, and real estate.
Following the transaction announcement, Nxt-Infra Trust shares experienced positive momentum on Wednesday, trading 1.03% higher at ₹98 per unit on the National Stock Exchange. The price movement reflects investor confidence in the InvIT's underlying infrastructure portfolio and the strategic significance of the major institutional acquisition. The stock's performance indicates market approval of the transaction's potential to strengthen the trust's financial position and operational capabilities.
The bulk deal also included A K Capital Finance, which sold over 2.10 crore units of Nxt-Infra Trust at the same price point of ₹95.33 per unit. As reported by NSE bulk deal data, this additional selling activity brought the total deal value to ₹200.67 crore, with the remaining buyers' identities not disclosed on the exchange. The combined transaction demonstrates active trading in the InvIT sector and suggests institutional rebalancing within the infrastructure investment space.
