Tech Mahindra has partnered with CoRover.ai to accelerate the adoption of India-origin artificial intelligence solutions across enterprise, public sector, and international markets. According to a press release, the collaboration focuses on translating indigenous technological capabilities into deployable frameworks across sovereign AI, enterprise AI, agentic systems, and digital public infrastructure. As part of the partnership, CoRover's BharatGPT platform will be integrated with Tech Mahindra's Project Indus and TechM Orion platforms. The collaboration is aimed at developing citizen-focused and public-sector AI solutions that can work with local languages and meet region-specific operational needs. The companies also plan to take these India-developed AI frameworks to international markets and expand their use across enterprises and public institutions.
Sovereign AI is emerging as Wall Street's next major AI investment theme, moving beyond traditional chatbot bets to focus on data and infrastructure control. According to reports from the Compound and Friends podcast, analyst Dan Ives has identified Nvidia and Palantir as early beneficiaries of this trend. The concept centers on countries and companies maintaining control of their own data and AI models rather than relying on external platforms, representing a fundamental shift in how AI infrastructure is approached.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has been advocating for a national version of sovereign AI for several years, urging governments in India, Japan, France, and Canada to keep their data domestically. As reported by the Compound and Friends podcast, Huang projects this infrastructure buildout will represent the largest infrastructure investment in human history, valued at $85 trillion over 15 years. In July, Huang invested £500 million in UK cloud firm NScale, positioning Britain as a future AI superpower. The company's strategy focuses on building domestic AI infrastructure rather than sending data to foreign model providers.
Palantir is implementing sovereign AI principles for enterprise clients through strategic partnerships. According to reports from the Compound and Friends podcast, in June, Palantir partnered with Nvidia on a Sovereign AI Operating System that allows companies to train models on their own hardware while keeping resulting model weights in-house. This approach eliminates the need to rent hosted APIs, providing companies with complete control over their AI infrastructure. Palantir's stock has gained fresh Wall Street attention following this strategic pivot, with the company reporting US commercial revenue jumped 149% year over year in Q2 2026, which it directly tied to sovereignty demand.
The financial services sector is experiencing unprecedented AI adoption, with active use of AI inside finance more than doubling in two years, from 30% to 75% of senior finance leaders surveyed across 20 countries. Research commissioned by HM Treasury concluded that up to 50% of tasks in most financial services roles could be automated, though the industry has treated this as a redundancy forecast rather than an opportunity for transformation. Among finance chiefs surveyed, 44% were running generative AI across five or more use cases, compared to just 7% twelve months earlier, with functions furthest along reporting spending 20% to 30% less time preparing data.
