Zerodha has significantly increased its instant withdrawal facility limits, raising the daily limit from ₹2 lakh to ₹5 lakh. According to reports from CNBC TV18, this enhancement allows customers to transfer higher amounts from their trading accounts to linked bank accounts within seconds. The brokerage has also extended the availability of its instant withdrawal facility, with customers now able to access the service between 9 AM and 6 PM, including weekends and market holidays. As reported by CNBC TV18, Zerodha co-founder and CEO Nithin Kamath shared details on the updated trading account feature, highlighting the scale of the service.
As reported by CNBC TV18, Zerodha co-founder and CEO Nithin Kamath announced the changes, highlighting the scale of the service. The brokerage has processed nearly ₹1 lakh crore through instant payouts since introducing the facility in 2024. Kamath emphasized that the service remains completely free of cost for customers, stating "Since 2024, we've processed nearly ₹1 lakh crore in instant payouts, completely free." The revised limit means customers can now withdraw up to ₹5 lakh through a single instant withdrawal request each day, compared with the earlier ceiling of ₹2 lakh.
According to CNBC TV18, Zerodha's instant withdrawal facility allows customers to transfer funds from trading accounts to primary bank accounts without waiting for regular withdrawal processing cycles. The facility operates on a single request per day basis and allows withdrawals between ₹100 and ₹5 lakh in a single day. However, customers cannot withdraw funds deposited into trading accounts on the same day, and pending or executed orders, except eligible equity CNC and MTF sell orders, can affect eligibility for instant withdrawals. To use the service, customers need to log in to their Zerodha account, go to the Funds section, select the instant withdrawal option, enter the amount and confirm the request. The facility remains completely free of cost for customers.
As reported by CNBC TV18, the ₹5 lakh ceiling applies only to instant withdrawals and does not mean customers can withdraw only ₹5 lakh a day from their Zerodha accounts. Investors can use the regular withdrawal facility to transfer larger amounts, subject to their available withdrawable balance. According to Zerodha's support documentation, customers can place regular withdrawal requests of up to ₹5 crore through its Console platform. For amounts exceeding ₹5 crore, they need to raise a support ticket with the brokerage. Regular withdrawals follow the brokerage's normal processing schedule and are not subject to the instant facility's operating hours.
As reported by CNBC TV18, the higher withdrawal limit and extended operating window are expected to offer greater flexibility to investors seeking quicker access to unused trading balances, particularly on weekends and exchange holidays. The enhanced service aims to provide investors with more convenient access to their funds, improving the overall user experience for Zerodha's trading platform. The extended availability from 9 AM to 6 PM, including weekends and market holidays, provides unprecedented accessibility for customers requiring immediate fund transfers. However, the higher limit does not alter settlement timelines or conditions governing when funds become withdrawable, with investors still needing to check their actual withdrawable balance before placing requests.
