W Group has launched hashbank, a fully licensed universal digital bank that combines traditional banking services with Web3 economy infrastructure in a single mobile application. According to reports from AMBCrypto, this integration brings fiat banking and external crypto transfers together, allowing customers to receive digital assets from external wallets and platforms while sending them to external blockchain addresses. The platform supports more than 150 digital assets and operates with authentication, address verification, anti-money-laundering procedures, and blockchain analytics for secure transactions.
Hashbank holds a full banking license from the National Bank of Georgia, obtained in 2023, and began operating in a live environment in 2024. As reported by AMBCrypto, the bank currently serves approximately 60,000 customers across 73 countries. Within the South Caucasus and Central Asia region, hashbank is the first fully licensed bank to offer this integrated model within its mobile banking application, differentiating itself through broad external-wallet connectivity, direct integration with WhiteBIT, and services for both individuals and businesses.
Hashbank benefits from direct integration with WhiteBIT, which serves 10 million users on its platform, while W Group's broader ecosystem serves around 40 million users globally. According to AMBCrypto, this strategic synergy operates within the W Group ecosystem while maintaining strict independent governance required for licensing. The partnership enables seamless banking services for both end customers and fintech companies requiring regulated financial access.
The next stage of hashbank's development focuses on expanding international financial infrastructure, including international payment rails, new currencies, and cross-border corridors. As reported by AMBCrypto, the bank is also working on banking as a service and embedded banking solutions to serve not only end customers but also fintech companies, crypto platforms, and other businesses requiring regulated financial services. This expansion aims to create a global, full-cycle financial ecosystem integrating banking, payments, digital assets, blockchain, and international financial infrastructure.
According to AMBCrypto, Volodymyr Nosov, Founder and President of W Group, emphasized that the company is building infrastructure bridges between Web2 and Web3 businesses rather than standalone entities. Goga Chanadiri, CEO of hashbank, stated that the service sets a new precedent for banking in Georgia and the wider region, strengthening the bridge between traditional banking and digital assets. The bank was recently awarded the title of 'Best New Digital Bank Georgia 2026' by Global Banking & Finance Review for its technological achievements in 2026.
