
AU Small Finance Bank (AU SFB) has announced its collaboration with Intellect Design Arena, a global leader in AI-First, enterprise-grade financial technology. According to the latest exchange filing, the partnership involves adopting Intellect's Purple Fabric platform, described as the world's first Open Business Impact AI platform. This engagement represents a defining milestone in the adoption of enterprise AI in Indian banking, combining AU SFB's AI-first ambition with Intellect's AI-first banking capabilities to deliver enterprise-wide intelligence at scale. The collaboration aims to accelerate AU SFB's journey towards becoming an AI-first bank and build a scalable, technology-led banking franchise powered by enterprise-wide intelligence.
AU SFB operates a comprehensive banking network with over 2,790 banking touchpoints across 21 States and 4 Union Territories, serving more than 1.2 crore customers. As reported by the latest exchange filing, the bank is reimagining banking by embedding intelligence across customer journeys, operations, and decision-making processes. The bank stated that it is embedding AI-driven intelligence across customer journeys, operations and decision-making processes, with the collaboration specifically aimed at accelerating this transformation through enterprise-wide AI implementation. As of March 31, 2026, AU SFB maintains a strong financial position with shareholders' funds of ₹19,974 crore, deposit base of ₹1,52,661 crore, total loan portfolio of ₹1,40,327 crore, and a balance sheet size of over ₹1.9 lakh crore. The bank is supported by a workforce of 59,200+ employees and is listed on NSE and BSE with credit ratings of 'AA+/Stable' for fixed deposits and 'AA/Stable' for long-term debt.
By choosing Purple Fabric as its enterprise AI foundation, AU SFB is establishing a scalable platform for enterprise-wide AI, built on model flexibility, domain-driven intelligence, and seamless integration with existing ecosystems. According to the latest filing, the bank will also leverage PF Credit agents - AI-powered decision engines that can analyze customer data in real time, automate credit assessments, and enable faster, more consistent lending decisions. The Purple Fabric platform enables AU SFB to build and scale domain-specific AI agents across business functions, leverage a multi-model LLM Hub with freedom of model choice, process and operationalize unstructured data at enterprise scale, and seamlessly integrate with existing technological ecosystems. This approach is designed to accelerate the bank's journey and deliver early business impact through intelligent, data-driven decisioning. By combining a strong AI platform with targeted digital experts such as PF Credit, AU SFB is taking a structured and scalable approach to building an AI-first enterprise.

AU Small Finance Bank shares traded marginally lower by 0.46% at ₹974.50 as the bank announced its collaboration with Intellect Design Arena for the AI-first banking platform. However, Intellect Design Arena shares surged over 3% to ₹711.55 on NSE following the partnership announcement, reflecting positive market sentiment towards the AI banking collaboration. According to market reports, the Indian equity markets traded higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Nifty 50 index rising 0.46% to 23,759.90 and Bank Nifty gaining 0.10% to 53,589.15. Banking and financial services stocks remained in focus amid increasing digital transformation and AI adoption across the sector. The bank stated that the engagement marks a milestone in enterprise AI adoption in Indian banking, with the collaboration positioned to modernize the bank's commercial banking offering through enterprise-wide AI implementation. AU SFB is India's largest Small Finance Bank and the first in over a decade to receive in-principle approval to transition into a Universal Bank, having commenced banking operations in April 2017 and entering its 10th year as a bank.
