According to reports from Yicai, Ant International has successfully completed a $1.2 billion Series A funding round to support its global growth plans. The Singapore-based fintech firm announced the fundraising on Tuesday, with participation from Ant Group, Alibaba Group Holding, existing shareholders, and multiple international investment institutions. The transaction marks Ant International's first publicly announced funding round, representing a significant milestone for the Ant ecosystem. The company was carved out of China's Ant Group in 2024 as an independently operated company and has since focused on expanding its digital payments and financial technology services outside mainland China.
As reported by Yicai, the fresh capital will be directed toward growing Ant International's presence across overseas markets while increasing spending on AI technologies. The company also plans to expand inclusive fintech products focused on cross-border payments and global account services for businesses operating internationally. The financing comes as Ant International continues building its blockchain payments network and advances stablecoin licensing plans across multiple markets. The company generated an estimated $3.7 billion in revenue during 2025, representing a 25% increase from the previous year, with international operations growing faster than several of the company's domestic businesses.
According to Yicai, Ant International was valued at around $10 billion before the latest funding round, as reported last month citing a source familiar with the matter. The fundraising marks another milestone for the Ant ecosystem, years after Chinese regulators halted Ant Group's blockbuster initial public offering in 2020 just days before its planned debut. The regulatory intervention ultimately led to founder Jack Ma relinquishing control of Ant Group as part of the company's broader restructuring. The Singapore-based fintech firm operates as an overseas affiliate of the Jack Ma-founded Chinese fintech firm Ant Group, with Alibaba Group Holding also participating in the private funding round.
As reported by Yicai, Ant International currently has operations spanning Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America. The company works with banks, card networks, mobile payment providers and technology firms, enabling it to serve around 150 million merchants and 2 billion user accounts worldwide. The company's network connects more than 150 million merchants with over 2 billion consumer accounts through innovation, settlement, and operational centers in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia. This extensive global footprint positions the company well for its planned expansion across multiple international markets, with the company connected to banks, card organizations, mobile payment and tech firms through which it covers its extensive user base.
According to Yicai, the company has been expanding its blockchain-powered payments infrastructure and regulated digital asset initiatives. Ant International processed more than $1 trillion in global transactions during 2024, with about one-third of those payments settled through blockchain infrastructure. The company has also been incorporating regulated digital assets into its payment infrastructure, including the integration of Circle's USDC stablecoin into parts of its cross-border settlement network. The company plans to apply for stablecoin issuer licenses in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Luxembourg, with a company spokesperson confirming it would seek a fiat-referenced stablecoin issuer license in Hong Kong after the city's Stablecoins Ordinance took effect.
