The stock has now declined for five consecutive sessions, marking a sustained period of weakness in the pharmaceutical sector. The benchmark NIFTY was trading up 0.13% at 24,116.9, while the Sensex stood at 77,301.67, gaining 0.19% during the same period.
As reported by Business Standard, Torrent Pharmaceuticals has eased around 0.75% over the past month, underperforming the broader market. The Nifty Pharma index, of which Torrent is a constituent, has declined 2.88% in the same period and was trading at 24,146.55, up marginally by 0.01% on the day. The stock's performance contrasts sharply with its strong annual returns, having jumped 39.91% over the last year, significantly outperforming the 2.73% slide in NIFTY and the 12.63% spurt in the Nifty Pharma index.
According to Business Standard, the trading volume for Torrent Pharmaceuticals stood at 1.31 lakh shares during the session, which is notably lower than the daily average of 5.7 lakh shares recorded over the past month. The benchmark June futures contract for the stock was quoting at ₹4,443.7, down 0.39% on the day, reflecting cautious investor sentiment. The stock's PE ratio stands at 68.05 based on trailing twelve months earnings ending March 2026.
