Among the 30 Sensex constituents, Bajaj Finserv, Bharat Electronics Ltd, IndiGo, Trent, Reliance Industries, Infosys, Titan, Adani Ports, UltraTech Cement, Bajaj Finance, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Bank, and State Bank of India were the major gainers. The rebound in domestic equities was supported by a broad-based rally across Asian markets, with Hong Kong's Hang Seng climbing 2%, South Korea's KOSPI advancing 1.3%, Japan's Nikkei 225 index gaining 1.11%, and Shanghai's SSE Composite index trading 0.35% higher. According to The Hindu, U.S. markets had ended more than 1% higher in overnight deals on Thursday (September 3, 2026), setting a positive tone for Asian equities. However, Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, rose 0.48% to $95.98 per barrel.
Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) offloaded equities worth ₹2,345.87 crore on Thursday (September 3, 2026), while Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) remained net buyers, purchasing equities worth ₹4,977.46 crore, according to exchange data reported by The Hindu. This divergence in investment flows highlights the continued domestic support for Indian equities despite foreign selling pressure, with DIIs providing crucial support during the market recovery.
