
Kernex Microsystems India shares fell 4.43% to ₹1,985.60 per share on the NSE on Friday, marking the second consecutive session of decline amid profit booking. According to reports from Moneycontrol, the stock has declined approximately 4% over the last two trading sessions, despite its strong recent performance. The decline comes after the stock had been among the prominent gainers in the Railway Kavach segment and attracted strong retail investor interest.
Despite the recent decline, Kernex Microsystems has surged 110% in the last three months, significantly outperforming the benchmark Sensex, which gained 3.21% during the same period, according to BSE Analytics data reported by Moneycontrol. In the last one month alone, the stock has risen nearly 50%, demonstrating the strong investor interest in Railway Kavach-related companies. The stock's performance reflects the growing focus on railway infrastructure modernization and safety systems.
The Kavach automatic train protection system assists loco pilots in operating trains within specified speed limits through the automatic application of brakes if required, as reported by Moneycontrol. The system also helps ensure safe train operations during adverse weather conditions. Listed companies associated with Kavach include CG Power, HBL Engineering, Kernex Microsystems, Quadrant Future Tek and RailTel Corporation of India. HBL Engineering shares traded higher while Quadrant Future Tek declined nearly 5% over the last two trading sessions.
In recent months, Railways approved projects worth several crores to upgrade and expand the Kavach automatic train protection system across multiple zones, according to Moneycontrol reports. Earlier in March, the Railway Ministry announced that Kavach 4.0, the indigenously developed collision avoidance system, will be deployed on 548 kilometres of high-density routes across Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka at a cost of over ₹300 crore. The system is designed to prevent train collisions through automatic brake application in critical situations and is expected to strengthen operational safety on busy rail corridors.
