The broader market sentiment was significantly impacted by technology sector weakness, with Accenture trimming its revenue growth guidance and flagging weak demand visibility, raising concerns about global IT spending. Healthcare and pharma stocks, however, bucked the broader weakness. The S&P BSE Sensex tumbled 607.08 points or 0.78% to 76,802.90, while the Nifty 50 index declined 154.90 points or 0.64% to 24,013.10. However, domestic equities advanced on Monday as cooling oil prices and fresh FII inflows fuelled risk appetite, with the S&P BSE Sensex gaining 291.17 points or 0.38% to 77,094.07 and the Nifty 50 jumping 89.80 points or 0.37% to 24,102.90. Investor sentiment was further affected by continued FII selling, weak global cues and rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
