
Emcure Pharmaceuticals witnessed a significant block deal on Wednesday as BC Investments IV Limited, a Mauritius-based investment entity, sold 18 lakh shares valued at ₹289 crore to Norges Bank on behalf of The Government Pension Fund Global. According to reports from The Economic Times, the shares were purchased at a price of ₹1,608.2 per share. BC Investments IV, an affiliate of Bain Capital, held over 73.39 lakh shares accounting for 3.87% stake in the company as of March 31, 2026.
The stock demonstrated exceptional performance, ending with strong gains of 8% at ₹1,729.90 on the NSE following the block deal announcement. As reported by The Economic Times, the stock has delivered remarkable returns of 67% in the past 12 months, significantly outperforming the benchmarks Nifty and BSE Sensex, whose returns in the same period stand at -1% and -3% respectively. The stock is currently trading above its 50-day and 200-day simple moving averages of ₹1,535 and ₹1,438 respectively, according to Trendlyne data.
Emcure Pharmaceuticals, a smallcap stock with a market capitalization of ₹32,742 crore, reported strong financial results for the quarter. According to reports from The Economic Times, the company achieved a consolidated net profit of ₹231 crore, representing a 50% growth over ₹154 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. The company also reported total revenue of ₹2,365 crore, showing 20% year-on-year growth compared to ₹1,966 crore in the same period last year. The pharma company specializes in manufacturing APIs and formulations.
