IEX recorded 6.10 lakh Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) traded during May 2026, though volumes declined 65% year-on-year. The Green Day-Ahead and Green Term-Ahead Market segments achieved 1,034 MU volume compared to 915 MU in May 2025, representing a 13% increase. The weighted average price in Green Day-Ahead Market (G-DAM) remained largely flat at ₹3.60 per unit on a year-on-year basis. Trading sessions were held on May 13th and 29th, with clearing prices of ₹400 per REC. The next REC trading sessions are scheduled on June 10th and 24th, with sell bids declining by 85.3% year-on-year, leading to a rise in clearing prices during May 2026.
