
Ace investor Ashish Kacholia has made a significant investment in Aelea Commodities, purchasing over 7.73 lakh shares worth ₹9.3 crore through a bulk deal. According to reports from The Economic Times, the shares were acquired from Suryavanshi Commotrade Private Limited, which fully exited its position by selling its entire stake at ₹120.50 per share. Suryavanshi's stake in the Mumbai-based company stood at 3.8% as of December 31, 2025, according to BSE shareholding data.
The investment comes at a challenging time for Aelea Commodities, which has experienced significant price erosion. As reported by The Economic Times, the microcap counter has plunged 36% over a one-year period, while the stock is down 21% in 2026 so far. The stock was listed on the BSE in July 2024 and settled at ₹121.50 on the day of the transaction, representing a 2% increase over the previous closing price.
According to Trendlyne data cited in the report, Aelea Commodities shares are currently trading below their 50-day and 200-day simple moving averages of ₹132 and ₹166 respectively. The company operates as a cashew processing business that started operations in 2018, serving customers across general trade, modern retail, institutional supply, D2C, e-commerce, and quick commerce channels, offering cashew kernels to plant-based alternatives.
Kacholia, known as the 'Big Whale' in investment circles, maintains investments in at least 50 stocks as per public shareholding data, with a net worth of ₹2,420 crore according to Trendlyne. As reported by The Economic Times, some of his portfolio stocks include Shaily Engineering, Xpro, Safari Industries, Balu Forge, Faze Three, Brand Concepts, Stove Kraft, and Aeroflex Industries. The latest acquisition in Aelea Commodities represents his continued focus on small and microcap opportunities despite challenging market conditions.
