Tata Steel has received significant tax relief in a long-running income tax dispute, with the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal allowing the company's claim for deduction of interest expenditure for FY2009. According to the company's exchange filing, this provides relief of approximately ₹427 crore for FY2009 and reduces the total tax component to ₹1,259 crore.
