World, the mysterious Solana project that gained millions of views on X with cryptic posts and the tagline 'Trade Everything,' is now live as a fully onchain prediction market. According to reports from CoinDesk, the platform launched on July 1, 2026, as a fully operational prediction market within the Phantom wallet and at world.xyz, utilizing Chainlink as its primary oracle infrastructure for market data. The platform is operational with short-duration Bitcoin (BTC) up-or-down contracts and markets on the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with additional markets on sports, geopolitics, and macroeconomics planned for the near future. The launch adds a Solana-native challenger to a sector where Polymarket and Kalshi already lead, where volumes have hit records.
World operates as a non-custodial prediction market where users can trade directly from their Solana wallets, with funds moving only when they enter a market. As reported by CoinDesk, positions, settlement and redemptions occur fully onchain using CASH stablecoin, allowing winning positions to be redeemed automatically inside the wallet. The platform uses Phantom's CASH stablecoin as its settlement asset, providing immediate distribution through one of Solana's largest consumer apps. This integration allows for automatic redemption of winning positions directly within the wallet, leveraging Phantom's extensive distribution network. The platform routes orders to liquidity providers on Solana and does not hold user funds or run the markets itself, with traders keeping positions in their own wallets as tokens until they choose to cash out.
World's integration with Chainlink provides market data and resolution infrastructure through Chainlink Data Streams and the Chainlink Runtime Environment, reducing reliance on human-led resolution. According to CoinDesk, this setup follows other event-contract platforms moving toward oracle-based settlement, including Polymarket for some price-based markets. The platform is part of Phantom's broader push into in-app markets, including Kalshi prediction markets and regulated derivatives. This move addresses a common challenge in prediction markets by minimizing human intervention in market resolutions through oracle-based infrastructure.
The launch represents a significant distribution advantage for World, as Phantom reaches approximately 20 million users and has been offering prediction markets since December 2025 through a Kalshi-powered integration. According to BeInCrypto data, Solana's SOL token rose more than 5% on the day and about 16% over the week, coinciding with World's launch. The platform replaced Kalshi for all positions opened on or after June 1, 2026, with the key difference being that World settles winning positions automatically once events end, whereas Kalshi required traders to redeem positions themselves. The team plans to add sports, politics, and macro markets through July, with the World Cup becoming the first real test of whether embedded access inside Phantom turns into lasting liquidity.
