According to Stripe's official React Native changelog, Samsung Pay support was added to Crypto Onramp tools in version 0.75.0, released on August 18, 2026. The integration includes four key components: configuration tools, availability checks, payment collection functionality, and example implementation code. As reported by Digital Asset, this addition allows React Native developers using Stripe's Android integration to offer Samsung Pay as a wallet option for users purchasing digital assets with fiat currency, subject to the payment method being available for the user and integration.
According to Stripe's changelog, version 0.77.0 is the current release as of September 16, 2026, adding identity fields while fixing Android Crypto Onramp presentation failures. The latest version moved Google Pay payment-method and token creation flows to Android's Activity Result API and removed support for React Native's old architecture. Stripe's public Crypto Onramp page still lists credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, instant ACH and regular ACH among its preferred payment methods, with Samsung Pay not yet appearing in the published payment-method section.
As reported by Stripe, Crypto Onramp is designed to allow users to buy cryptocurrencies directly inside third-party applications instead of leaving for separate exchanges. The service supports multiple digital assets and blockchain networks, with Stripe handling payment and purchasing flows while developers embed the service. The availability-check component is particularly important because Samsung Pay may not be usable on every Android device or customer setup, allowing applications to determine availability before attempting payment collection.
According to crypto.news coverage, Stripe has been expanding its crypto payment infrastructure beyond its original fiat onramp. The company acquired stablecoin infrastructure company Bridge in a transaction valued at approximately $1.1 billion and launched Stablecoin Financial Accounts in more than 100 countries in 2025. Bridge has since secured MiCA and Electronic Money Institution authorization in Luxembourg for regulated stablecoin services across the European Union. Additionally, Stripe-owned World launched World Money product across more than 150 countries on September 17, with Stripe powering the U.S. Apple Pay funding route.
React Native allows developers to maintain mobile applications for both Android and iOS using a shared JavaScript-based codebase, with Stripe's React Native SDK providing prebuilt payment interfaces. The SDK handles sensitive payment details through Stripe instead of requiring developers to send card information through their own servers. Samsung Pay support is specifically documented under Crypto Onramp for Android, with the feature not described as an iOS option, fitting Samsung Pay's use on supported Android devices only.
