Ripple Treasury has expanded its GSmart platform with policy-controlled AI tools for forecasting, liquidity, risk, reconciliation, and reporting, positioning itself as the industry's first governed AI for enterprise treasury. The latest expansion places Ripple Treasury at the intersection of artificial intelligence, treasury management and digital-asset operations, designed to provide enterprises with a single interface for managing traditional fiat currencies alongside digital assets. According to BSCN reports, the updated system uses specialized AI agents to examine treasury data while enforcing controls set by each company, with the platform operating as a unified ledger environment that brings different asset types into the same operational framework. The expanded platform introduces AI-powered tools for liquidity forecasting, risk assessment, real-time reconciliation and financial reporting, giving enterprises a more automated approach to managing financial operations rather than treating individual treasury functions as separate processes.
GSmart separates AI-generated explanations and recommendations from underlying financial calculations, with deterministic engines handling financial calculations while GSmart reads company policies and identifies patterns in treasury data. The system incorporates human-in-the-loop oversight, meaning AI-driven financial actions remain subject to human supervision and pre-defined organizational policies established by the enterprise. Knowledge Studio serves as the governance layer, allowing treasury teams to define policies, permissions, and internal controls that guide how GSmart examines financial information. As per BSCN reports, the platform is positioned for use within strict corporate governance frameworks, ensuring that AI capabilities operate within established organizational rules and oversight. The combination of automation and governance is central to the platform's design, with the objective to improve treasury operations without removing established controls over financial decision-making and execution.
According to Ripple Treasury, 60% of eligible customers have activated the Risk Insights feature, which searches for unusual exposures and possible policy breaches. 44% of eligible customers use Forecast Insights, which compares expected cash flow with actual results and identifies differences affecting liquidity planning. The platform also includes reconciliation tools and reporting functions that organize treasury information for review. GSmart's agents focus on defined treasury functions including cash forecasting, liquidity management, financial risk, account reconciliation, and reporting, with the immediate focus on automated liquidity forecasting, risk assessment, reconciliation and reporting while maintaining human oversight and organizational policies. The platform is also described as compliant, with its financial management tools designed to operate within corporate governance requirements.
The platform now combines traditional treasury functions with digital asset capabilities, allowing companies to view traditional cash and digital assets within the same treasury environment. Ripple Treasury supports digital assets such as XRP and Ripple USD (RLUSD), with balances and transactions integrated into the broader treasury workflow. The connection between Ripple payments and treasury management is another important component, as the platform is designed to support payment processing, cash visibility, forecasting, risk management, and liquidity operations. For companies handling international transactions, this integration can help bring payment activity and treasury decisions into a more connected workflow, with the broader objective to help businesses manage capital more efficiently while maintaining existing financial controls. The platform includes an API-driven agentic layer, governance controls, and user oversight, with treasury teams able to select and schedule solutions based on their operational requirements.
Ripple Treasury positioned the update as companies increase their use of autonomous software across finance functions. According to Gartner research, an average Fortune 500 business could operate more than 150,000 AI agents by 2028, yet only 13% of organizations believe they currently have the governance needed to manage such agents properly. The company's Senior Vice President Renaat Ver Eecke noted that every CFO faces pressure to embrace AI while maintaining explainable, governed, and compliant financial decisions. The latest expansion combines operational tools with controls intended for institutional use, giving the AI expansion a broader focus than automation alone, combining operational tools with controls intended for institutional use. As Ver Eecke emphasized, "Rather than asking customers to blindly trust an AI system, GSmart works within each organization's own treasury policies to surface recommendations transparently, while ensuring humans remain in control of every decision."
Ripple has identified corporate treasury clients handling roughly $13 trillion annually as a potential distribution channel for its $2.4 billion RLUSD stablecoin. According to CoinDesk reports, Ripple stablecoin chief Jack McDonald expects the company's treasury-management business to connect RLUSD with corporate payments, settlement and liquidity operations. The $13 trillion figure describes annual transactions touching Ripple Treasury's customer base, not an RLUSD volume forecast or revenue projection. McDonald noted that "That customer base hadn't been onchain" and that companies using the platform move money domestically, across borders and between their subsidiaries. Ripple Treasury currently serves approximately 1,200 corporate treasurers and chief financial officers through its acquisition of GTreasury in October 2025. The company plans a MiCA-compliant dual-issuance structure before offering RLUSD across European markets, with McDonald stating "We would first and foremost like to offer RLUSD into Europe." RLUSD remains smaller than Tether's USDT and Circle's USDC, with total stablecoin circulation exceeding $300 billion, leaving Ripple's token with a limited portion of the market despite recent supply growth.
