BNB Chain has emerged as the dominant force in tokenized equity markets, capturing nearly 50% of the total supply worth approximately ₹2.9 billion. According to BlockWorks data, this represents a dramatic shift from before the launch of bStocks, when Ethereum controlled the largest supply while BNB Chain remained below $500 million despite months of gradual expansion. BNB Chain has now surpassed $1.3 billion by the end of August, significantly outpacing Ethereum at around $800 million, while Solana also increased its tokenized equity to approximately $550 million. The platform has accumulated over $500 million in Assets Under Management (AUM) since June and now supports more than 67 active assets through bStocks.
Crypto traders are experimenting with meme coins trading directly against tokenized stocks, with the most significant activity occurring on BNB Chain. According to reports, a token called memestock trades against GMEB, Binance's tokenized GameStop, in a PancakeSwap pool created on August 12. The pool holds more than $200,000 and turned over $543,000 in a single day. There are currently at least 10 meme coins using GMEB as their quote asset, including stockmemes, LONGCZ and BURN, with these pools moving approximately $2.2 million in 24 hours.
The tokenized stock system operates through bStocks, a lineup launched by Binance in June and expanded in batches since. As reported, Binance describes each bStock as fully backed by a real US share held at a regulated custodian, with BTech Holdings Limited issuing them and Nest Trading Limited arranging conversions at one token per share. The tokenized GameStop shares on the chain add up to 292,353 tokens worth $5.3 million, while GameStop closed Friday at $8.02 billion, making the onchain version roughly 0.07% of the company's total value. bStocks provides two additional benefits that do not exist with traditional shares: 24/7 settlement capabilities and composability, with trading already exceeding $19 billion showing active circulation rather than mere issuance.
The current experiment shows significant scale gaps compared to traditional markets. According to reports, Robinhood Chain demonstrates this disparity through its biggest meme coin experiment, Artificial Inu, which is valued near $98.6 million and trades against a tokenized Nvidia supply worth just $9.3 million. Nvidia itself is valued at $5.25 trillion. Despite BNB Chain's leadership in tokenized equity, Ethereum still dominates the broader Real World Assets (RWA) market with a 45% share worth $17.27 billion, while Solana follows with $4.06 billion. BNB Chain represents $5.7 billion of the $38.4 billion total RWA distributed market share, making up approximately 15% of the market.
Traders are seeking a breakthrough where meme coin activity translates to real stock price movements. As reported by crypto trader Schoen, the question remains when a memecoin will be paired to a penny stock, with onchain activity potentially leading to the stock going up 100-200%. The concentration of BNB Chain's success in tokenized equity raises strategic questions about its broader market position. While BNB Chain continues to grow within equities, Ethereum receives capital from multiple asset classes, increasing its overall liquidity and decreasing reliance upon a single RWA segment. Expanding into Treasuries and Funds will help spread demand for BNB Chain and increase capital retention, as slowing down equity growth may hinder the platform's potential to close Ethereum's overall lead.
