Kraken has launched kHYPE, a new Hyperliquid-backed token that creates direct collateralization for DeFi transactions on the Ink platform. Each kHYPE maintains a 1:1 ratio to HYPE tokens, which are stored in segregated accounts to eliminate uncollateralized issuance risks. According to reports from AMBCrypto, users can verify full collateralization through publicly verifiable reserve reporting, while redeeming kHYPE carries no fees, potentially encouraging asset movement between Kraken and Ink platforms.
Whale investor 0x8e48 has demonstrated significant confidence in Hyperliquid by staking 1.89 million HYPE tokens worth approximately $159 million at around $84 per token. As reported by AMBCrypto, the whale purchased an additional 116,427 HYPE tokens for $9.91 million before transferring all funds to staking, effectively removing these tokens from open market availability. This substantial position represents a long-term commitment that could influence market dynamics if demand increases.
Hyperliquid ETFs currently hold $464.29 million in net assets with total inflows remaining near $338 million, indicating most capital has remained invested despite recent price volatility. According to AMBCrypto reports, a $5.29 million outflow occurred from Bitwise's BHYP fund following the late August HYPE rally, suggesting some investors may have taken profits near highs. Despite these withdrawals, ETFs maintain nearly historical high capital levels, suggesting the outflows are not immediately concerning for broader institutional demand.
