TRON founder Justin Sun has revealed that traditional wealth trackers significantly underestimate his crypto holdings, claiming Forbes and Bloomberg discount his net worth by 70-80%. According to Sun's latest statements on X platform, this substantial gap represents his biggest bet and reflects his conviction in crypto's long-term potential. TRON currently trades near $0.33, ranking eighth by market value at approximately ₹2,600 crore (₹25 billion). Traditional wealth trackers like Forbes value Sun at $8.5 billion, ranking him 444th globally, while Sun argues that the discounted crypto slice represents his actual financial position. The tension over crypto valuation is not new, as Sun previously sued Bloomberg in 2025 to stop publication of his holdings, citing personal security risks.
TRON founder Justin Sun has filed a lawsuit against Chinese actress Jing Tian and her parents to recover approximately ₹37 crore (₹30 million yuan). According to reports from Sina, the legal action stems from a relationship that began in Hong Kong and ended earlier this year. The dispute centers around a ₹4.5 crore (₹30 million yuan) payment that Sun allegedly wired to two accounts held by Jing Tian's parents during their relationship. Sun's lawyer Zhang Qihuai confirmed on Thursday evening that a court in Xi'an had accepted the case and Sun had applied for asset preservation, a legal measure intended to prevent assets involved in a dispute from being transferred or disposed of.
The legal dispute escalated when Jing Tian allegedly demanded $50 million during a phone call on the eighth day of their relationship. As reported by Sina, Sun claims he ran the cash position through Anthropic's Claude AI chatbot and was advised to refuse the payment. The TRON founder alleges that Jing Tian then hung up and left after receiving the AI's response. Sun told Sing Tao Headline that he remained uncertain whether the AI's judgment was correct, nor if his decision to reject the request was right or wrong. Combined with the bride price his lawyers are pursuing, the total dispute amounts to $54.5 million.
The relationship between Sun and Jing dated for approximately seven months and had discussed getting married before separating earlier this year. According to Sina, Sun described the money as a betrothal gift made by his family to Jing's family as the couple discussed marriage. The dispute became public Thursday when Sun posted a lengthy account titled "My Girlfriend Jing Tian" on X platform, describing their relationship and plans for marriage and children. He also alleged that the couple had planned to have a child through surrogacy and that Jing later sought an additional $50 million. However, Sun ended the post with a disclaimer saying its contents were "purely fictional."
CZ drew a distinction between marketing activities and personal reputation damage in his response to the situation. As reported by The Standard, he stated that hard promotion is acceptable, but wrecking a career is not. The framing of Sun's essay as a marketing exercise rather than a personal confession became a point of contention, with CZ noting this represents a different sparring partner from his ongoing clashes with OKX founder Star Xu. Sun told Sing Tao Headline that the post allowed him to express his feelings, though he hoped the controversy would not affect his business ventures and said he would leave the lawsuit to his lawyers.
Jing addressed the controversy Friday morning on Weibo, rejecting suggestions that money dictated her relationships. "I have not in the past, do not now, and will not in the future ever sell my love for money, let alone my soul," she wrote, as quoted by The Standard. She added that she still believes in love and that time will prove everything. The dispute has become a major topic on Chinese social media, with several related terms reaching the top of Weibo's trending rankings. Jing's management company said it would handle the dispute through the legal system and rejected attempts to use the actress's reputation to pressure her.
The publicity stunt has raised significant concerns about crypto's mainstream credibility at a critical moment. As reported by Bloomberg Opinion, with an estimated net worth of $8.3 billion, Sun's wealth stems largely from Tron, a blockchain system that has become a global payments network moving more than PayPal. Nearly 40% of Tether's USDT, the world's most-used dollar-pegged stablecoin, is transacted on Tron. However, the platform has faced regulatory scrutiny, with China cracking down on capital flight and banning unauthorized offshore issuance of yuan-pegged stablecoins. Sun's flamboyant displays of wealth, including his $200 million Airbus A330, have drawn public backlash in China, where regulators have been implementing pay cuts across the brokerage industry following similar public displays of wealth.
