Internet Computer [ICP] has witnessed significant accumulation activity with traders purchasing over 503 million ICP tokens in the past two weeks, according to reports from AMBCrypto. This aggressive buying pattern began in the second half of June and has intensified since mid-July, coinciding with the altcoin's consolidation at the apex of a triangle pattern. The price has remained stagnant around $2.17 since mid-June, with the 9-day and 26-day moving averages showing flat performance.
ICP is currently trading at the apex of a two-month triangle consolidation pattern with horizontal support at $2.12 and slanting resistance ranging from $2.50 to $2.20, as reported by AMBCrypto. The price contraction to the apex indicates low volatility conditions, which typically precede high volatility breakouts. A successful breakout above the resistance level could trigger a rally toward $2.50 or higher, supported by Bull Bear Power (BBP) turning bullish and increasing transactions of more than 10K ICP on Binance spot market since July 15th.
Despite the bullish technical outlook, ICP's on-chain activity shows concerning bearish trends, according to AMBCrypto reports. Overall transactions have declined by 62% from 9,612 per day to approximately 3,680, representing the lowest network usage this month. Volume has also dropped significantly from 2.869 million ICP to 362.7K ICP tokens, creating this month's lowest levels. However, ICP maintains its position as the top blockchain by monthly transaction count with 9.40 billion transactions, ahead of Solana's 8.60 billion.
The technical analysis suggests that a breakout above the triangle pattern's resistance could drive ICP toward $2.50 or higher, while a breakdown below the $2.12 support level could trigger further price decline toward the $2.00 key demand level, with extreme bear scenarios targeting the $1-$1.16 zone created on October 10th, as reported by AMBCrypto. The current divergence between accumulation trends and declining network activity creates a complex market dynamic that traders should monitor closely.
