Hyperliquid has launched perpetual futures on the Bitcoin Volmex Implied Volatility Index (BVIV), marking the first onchain perpetual futures market for Volmex's Bitcoin volatility index. According to reports from CoinDesk, these new products allow traders to bet directly on the magnitude of bitcoin's price swings rather than its direction, providing a capital-efficient alternative to traditional options trading. The BVIV Index tracks cryptocurrency's expected 30-day implied volatility in real time, similar to Cboe's VIX index for the S&P 500.
The new perpetual market is collateralized and denominated in USDC, with up to 5x leverage available at launch. As reported by CoinDesk, the listing was led by Markets by Kinetiq, the onchain perpetual futures platform built on Hyperliquid, in partnership with Volmex and Perps.inc. The launch comes as the digital-asset market becomes increasingly institutionalized, drawing in hedge funds, volatility traders, options-income sellers and beyond. Volmex CEO Cole Kennelly described the launch as "a massive unlock for crypto traders and investors," making pure Bitcoin volatility exposure easily accessible.
The BVIV perpetual is connected to the Markets exchange onchain through Seda's oracle infrastructure, which connects the Volmex index to the exchange. According to CoinDesk, this co-deployment structure demonstrates how Markets by Kinetiq scales its model, with partners like Perps.inc and Volmex bringing products while Markets provides the trading venue. The listing adds volatility indices to Hyperliquid's existing roster of perpetuals tied to crypto, equities, legacy indices, and commodities.
DoubleZero has launched five Hyperliquid feeds on Edge, providing subscribers with live order book and trade[XYZ] market data over dedicated fiber infrastructure. As reported by crypto.news, the new service delivers machine-readable market data for trading firms, market makers and quantitative desks, built with Hyperliquid validator operators and ecosystem partners Hyperion DeFi, MAVAN and Kinetiq. The feeds cover Hyperliquid's native perpetuals, trade[XYZ] markets including commodities like oil, gold and silver, and order intents from mempool transactions. Subscribers receive sequenced data without rebuilding order books from public API updates, with the service available through paid subscriptions including two IP addresses per region.
Hyperliquid carries a fully diluted valuation above $90 billion and is the world's largest decentralized exchange for perpetual futures, registering billions of dollars in trading volume per day. As reported by CoinDesk, the exchange has become a go-to place for traders to express their views, especially on weekends when traditional markets are closed. The exchange has demonstrated exceptional performance in 2026, with Crypto Banter reporting that HYPE led all of crypto in on-chain revenue through September 15, pulling in $429 million, more than the next two projects combined. Pump.fun came in second at $322 million, highlighting Hyperliquid's strong market position in the competitive crypto trading space.
