HashKey Capital has announced the upcoming launch of what it calls the industry's first Bitcoin Hashrate Fund, targeting professional investors seeking BTC-denominated yield access. According to reports from HashKey Capital, the fund will be denominated in BTC and will use underlying computing power assets to target a market-competitive annualized return. The product is designed for global professional investors seeking exposure to Bitcoin mining-linked yield through a managed fund structure, with flexible subscription and redemption options along with transparent cash flows for investor planning. As reported by HashKey Capital, this fund introduces a yield structure tailored for computing power assets for the first time in the industry, opening a robust path for global professional investors to appreciate their Bitcoin assets.
BITMAIN will provide the underlying computing power technology services for the fund, but will act only as an independent third-party technology service provider. As reported by HashKey Capital, BITMAIN does not take part in fund management, marketing, distribution, investment decisions, or profit distribution. HashKey Capital will issue and manage the fund independently, with the partnership following an earlier BITMAIN and HashKey cooperation announced in April. The fund is expected to launch soon, with HashKey Capital saying more details will follow in July 2026. BITMAIN is the world's leading manufacturer of digital currency servers, with its brand ANTMINER maintaining technological and market advantage since its establishment in 2013, serving customers in over 100 countries and regions worldwide.
The launch comes during a difficult period for parts of the Bitcoin mining market, with Bitcoin mining difficulty falling 10.09% in June, one of the largest downward adjustments in Bitcoin's history. According to reports, the drop followed lower Bitcoin prices, weaker miner margins, and slower block production. Crypto.news reported that Bitcoin miners face pressure despite revenue topping $1 billion in May, with falling BTC prices, lower hashprice, and ETF outflows making profitability harder for miners entering June. The fund's performance will likely depend on BTC price, mining difficulty, equipment efficiency, power costs, fees, and the operating quality of the hashrate assets behind the product.
HashKey's fund fits a wider shift toward structured Bitcoin products, with Goldman Sachs filing for a Bitcoin Premium Income ETF designed to generate yield from Bitcoin exposure through a covered-call strategy. As reported by HashKey Capital, the company's risk control system covers the product's structure, asset security, and operational management across all dimensions from underlying structures to operational management. The fund introduces a yield structure tailored for computing power assets, aiming to balance mining asset income with flexible cash flow, while keeping the focus on Bitcoin mining yield rather than AI infrastructure. Mining companies are also changing their business models, with Bitcoin miners becoming AI data centers as firms seek revenue from power assets, data centers, and high-performance computing contracts.
