Arbitrum's token ARB has declined 10% over 24 hours, falling from its recent highs near $0.25 to trade around $0.217 at press time. The reversal tested whether the Robinhood Chain narrative could withstand a broader market sell-off, after ARB had previously ranked among the market's top gainers. According to AMBCrypto, the token had surged 13.38% to $0.241 over the last 24 hours, primarily driven by the integration of Arbitrum Orbit into Robinhood Chain, but the rally stalled near the $0.25 resistance level. Trading volume also fell 31%, pointing to quieter activity during the decline, while Coinalyze data showed more than $1.9 million in long liquidations as ARB slipped from $0.25.
The latest market pullback coincided with a sharp reversal in network flows, as reported by AMBCrypto. DefiLlama data showed four consecutive days of positive readings before USD Inflows turned negative, with the reading climbing to $503 million three days earlier and standing at -$12.8 million at press time. This marked a significant change in direction, though the flow reading alone could not explain ARB's price drop. ARB's Open Interest fell 10% to $290 million, while derivatives Volume declined 28% to $697 million. Meanwhile, Coinalyze showed Perpetuals sell volume climbing to $112 million with net buying falling to -$249 million on the displayed measure, pointing to weaker participation and stronger selling during the pullback.
Despite the sell-off, ARB's Trend Strength Index maintained an upward trajectory and the token held above its short-term Moving Averages, according to AMBCrypto. Those signals left room for a recovery if selling pressure eased. However, the immediate challenge lies in defending the $0.20 level, as losing that could open a deeper move toward $0.17. A move back above $0.24 could then put the recent rally back in play, with the chart structure offering bulls one more test of their position. The retreat left fewer traders backing the earlier move, suggesting that the Robinhood Chain connection remains part of Arbitrum's longer-term story but immediate buying interest has diminished.
Robinhood Chain has demonstrated remarkable market penetration, with Robinhood and BNB Chain together handling about 88.2% of tokenized-stock trading on decentralized exchanges in early September, up dramatically from just 2.3% in June. However, BNB Chain still maintains a much larger absolute balance of approximately $1 billion compared to Robinhood's $146 million. Over the 30 days ending September 18, BNB Chain experienced $181 million in tokenized-asset outflows, while Robinhood saw $156 million in inflows. If recent flows continue, Robinhood could potentially pass BNB Chain in tokenized equities within a couple of quarters.
The SEC's five-year innovation exemption for tokenized U.S. stocks on public blockchains is creating significant revenue opportunities for major digital asset infrastructure companies. According to Goldman Sachs and Citizens analysts, Coinbase, Robinhood, and Circle are positioned to benefit from expanded digital-asset infrastructure opportunities. The framework could expand opportunities in custody, onchain trading systems, and stablecoin settlement, while setting conditions on shareholder rights and trading limits. Coinbase's existing tokenized-equity products already meet most SEC requirements, with CEO Brian Armstrong announcing that voting rights are coming soon to align with the framework requirements.
