Ethereum spot ETF flows have turned positive for two consecutive weeks after a prolonged stretch of outflows. According to reports from BeInCrypto, the last red week ended on February 20, when net outflows hit -$123 million and Ethereum price sat at $1,970. Since then, two green weeks have followed, with the current price trading near $1,960. This pattern has historically preceded significant rallies, as previous ETF flow flips from red to green have averaged approximately 10% gains. The latest institutional capital rotation shows $117 million in fresh Ethereum ETF allocations, adding to the positive momentum that began with Bitcoin's $881 million in net inflows last week.
The historical data reveals compelling patterns when ETF flows flip from negative to positive. As reported by BeInCrypto, in the first instance, the week ending November 21 recorded -$500 million in outflows with ETH at around $2,730, followed by a flip to +$313 million that drove the price above $3,050 — a 11.6% surge. The second instance saw -$68 million outflows with ETH at around $3,070, followed by a positive $479 million flow that pushed the price to $3,290 — a 7.1% gain. This recent institutional rotation represents the first positive capital movement in over a month, with the weight of capital clearly favoring the long side for the first time since the five-week outflow period that drained roughly $4 billion from crypto exchange traded products.
A developing bullish relative strength index (RSI) divergence on the daily chart provides additional support for the recovery thesis. According to BeInCrypto analysis, between January 25 and March 3, Ethereum's price has been forming a lower low while the RSI prints a higher low, which is a classic rebound signal. The March 3 candle shows a swing low forming via its wick, keeping the immediate bounce case active, though a break below $1,920 would weaken the rebound case. The current institutional rotation, occurring without headlines or viral catalysts, represents smart money entering at what looks like discounted levels, exactly how the smart money has entered every major Bitcoin rally since 2020.
Glassnode's UTXO Realized Price Distribution (URPD) analysis reveals critical supply concentration zones that could determine the recovery's success. As reported by BeInCrypto, the first significant cluster sits near $2,020, comprising approximately 1.47% of total ETH supply, followed by a heavier zone between $2,120 and $2,170, where $2,120 holds 0.72% and $2,170 holds 0.76% — a combined 1.5% of all ETH. The $2,140 level represents the convergence of Fibonacci levels, URPD clusters, and historical ETF precedent, making it the primary target for a 10% bounce. With Bitcoin now trading near $66,836 and up roughly 5% on the week, the focus shifts to whether this capital marks the beginning of a real recovery or just another relief bounce that fades into lower lows.
The current price action occurs against a backdrop of stabilizing sentiment, with the Fear and Greed Index still reading Extreme Fear at 10 yet institutions buying into that fear rather than running from it. The immediate hurdle sits at $72,000, a zone that rejected multiple rallies and sits just above the breakout level. Clear it cleanly and the path opens toward $80,000 first, then $84,000 and possibly $90,000 if buying pressure builds through the month. Analyst Michael Van De Poppe stressed that holding $65,000 remains the critical floor, calling it the level that separates a real recovery from another trap. On the downside, $1,930 serves as nearest support, with $1,920 as the swing low and $1,810 representing the 0.786 Fibonacci extension, while a drop under $1,720 would invalidate the current divergence structure entirely.
