Singapore-based stablecoin payments company dtcpay has successfully completed its $25 million Series A funding round on an undisclosed date in 2026. According to reports from dtcpay, the round was led by SBI Group in April 2026, with the additional $15 million coming from SBI Group and other participants including Genedant Capital and existing investor Kwee Liong Tek. The company did not disclose specific investment amounts, ownership stakes, or new valuation figures. As per PRNewswire, the round was further anchored by Japan's leading financial conglomerate, SBI Group, which invested through its subsidiary, SBI Ventures Asset Pte Ltd, and through the SBI-NTU-Kyobo Digital Innovation Fund. SBI Group stated that the investment initiates a strategic partnership to expand the digital asset corridor between Japan and Southeast Asia.
As reported by dtcpay, the investment extends SBI Group's blockchain settlement and digital payments strategy, building on previous partnerships including SBI Remit's collaboration with Fasset for stablecoin infrastructure and SBI Holdings' agreement with the Solana Foundation for stablecoins and tokenized assets. CEO of SBI Ven Capital Eiichiro So described the transaction as the start of a strategic partnership, with SBI wanting to develop digital-asset links between Japan and Southeast Asia. The company plans to use the fresh capital for payment products, merchant expansion, and regulated international market growth, including a redesigned business portal for enterprise clients and new consumer app functions. Founded by Alice Liu and Band Zhao, dtcpay provides stablecoin payment infrastructure that enables businesses and individuals to accept, store, and transact in digital currencies. According to Genedant Capital's CEO Quek How Jiang, the company is building the regulated infrastructure that will bring stablecoin payments into everyday commerce.
Underpinning dtcpay's services is a proprietary real-time swap engine that enables seamless, instant exchange and settlement between stablecoins and fiat currencies. This technology helps address key barriers to broader adoption by streamlining operational processes involved in digital asset payments and offering a more efficient alternative to traditional cross-border payment infrastructure, where transactions can take several days to settle and incur fees across multiple intermediaries. As stablecoins gain traction in payments, dtcpay has established itself as an early mover through a series of industry firsts, including launching one of the first regulated Digital Payment Token (DPT) point-of-sale solutions, integrating early with WalletConnect to enable acceptance across more than 700 wallets, and introducing an early stablecoin-to-fiat Visa Infinite card for consumers to spend fiat and stablecoin across Visa's global acceptance network of more than 150 million merchant locations. As an official Visa member with licensed operations across Singapore, Hong Kong, Luxembourg, Australia, the United States, and Canada, dtcpay continues to build compliant infrastructure for global stablecoin payments through its issued stablecoin Visa cards.
According to dtcpay, the company's execution and regulatory leadership has drawn significant industry recognition, including Disruptor of the Year and Fintech of the Year at the 2025 Asia Fintech Awards, and Fintech Mentor of the Year for Alice Liu at the SFF FinTech Excellence Awards in 2025. The completion of the Series A brings together a diverse group of investors whose collective expertise spans traditional finance, fintech infrastructure, and global market expansion. Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India, part of Vertex Holdings, a wholly owned subsidiary of Temasek Holdings, led the initial tranche and brings extensive experience scaling technology companies with deep Southeast Asian market expertise. Genedant Capital, a Singapore-based fund management firm licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore with over $2 billion in assets under management and advisory, brings in a network of family offices, private wealth investors and institutional relationships across Asia, strengthening access to strategic capital as dtcpay scales internationally. The round also included continued support from Kuo Liangde, founder of Capella Hotel Group, adding to the strategic investor base.
According to reports from dtcpay, the company operates as a Major Payment Institution authorized by the Monetary Authority of Singapore for six regulated payment services including account issuance, domestic money transfers, cross-border transfers, merchant acquisition, e-money issuance, and digital payment token services. In Europe, dtcpay's Luxembourg subsidiary holds an Electronic Money Institution license, while the company maintains licenses or registrations in Hong Kong, Australia, the U.S., and Canada. The company has established merchant integrations including partnerships with WalletConnect for point-of-sale payments supporting over 700 wallets and its Digital Treasures Visa Infinite card launched in February 2025. The company's Global Pay product currently supports transfers to more than 100 countries with fiat currencies including USD, SGD, GBP, EUR, and HKD, and stablecoins including USDT and USDC. CEO Alice Liu emphasized that the $25 million injection will fund an enterprise portal, enhanced application features, and merchant expansion, though the company did not disclose specific details regarding current valuation, revenue, or exact fund distribution.
