Canopy Network has successfully raised $8.5 million in seed funding for its AI-native blockchain development platform. The Mesa, Arizona-based project also acquired Tanssi technology, a decentralized protocol that enables rapid deployment of customized blockchain applications. According to reports from multiple sources, the funding will support mainnet launch preparations, engineering hires, and continued development of AI-native tooling for onchain application builders. The platform's goal is to make building decentralized applications fast and accessible enough that founders no longer need deep engineering expertise.
Canopy is developing a framework designed to help founders, developers, and coding assistants create onchain applications with significantly reduced engineering overhead. The platform compresses complex application layers into roughly 200 lines of clean, human-readable code that allows both developers and AI coding assistants (such as Claude, Codex, and Cursor) to generate complete, functional applications. This concise format enables teams to go from idea to deployed app in minutes, with the output remaining readable for developers to review, edit, and improve as products evolve. The platform is currently live on public testnet with comprehensive documentation and ecosystem rewards available.
The acquisition of Tanssi technology provides Canopy with essential blockchain infrastructure components before mainnet launch. The deal includes Tanssi's appchain control panel, sequencer system for block production, and Snowbridge-based Ethereum bridge for cross-chain communication. Rather than building components from scratch, Canopy is integrating proven, production-tested infrastructure to shorten the timeline to mainnet and allow the team to focus resources on developer experience and AI-native tooling. The standalone Tanssi network was expected to wind down over 30 days following the announcement, with Canopy planning to integrate this technology into its own development framework.
Canopy's public testnet has demonstrated strong early adoption, with builders launching nearly 27,000 projects during the first 12 days. As reported by industry sources, total launches have since surpassed 331,000, indicating significant demand from founders and developers seeking faster ways to create onchain products through AI-assisted tools. The funding round attracted participation from major investors including Arrington Capital, Fenbushi Capital, Borderless Capital, and SNZ Capital, bringing additional investor backing for the project's next phase. Canopy sits between no-code tools that are too limited and traditional blockchain frameworks that demand expertise most founders lack, giving builders readable code they can work with directly while maintaining ownership of their applications.
