Crypto exchange Bitget has launched Reality, a licensed financial protocol focused on tokenizing real-world assets (RWAs), marking a significant expansion of the company's tokenization strategy. According to the latest announcement, Reality will bring tokenized US stocks and ETFs into Bitget's broader trading ecosystem, giving users access to market exposure traditionally limited by geography, market hours, fragmented platforms, and settlement barriers. The platform serves as the issuing platform for 'rTokens', which are onchain representations of publicly traded equities and ETFs that are 1:1 backed by real shares held with a FINRA-registered, SIPC-protected U.S. broker-dealer. Reality enforces the industry's highest transparency standards, with independent third-party auditors delivering a live Proof of Asset dashboard and CPA-level audit reports to ensure verifiable asset integrity at all times.
Reality has introduced significant improvements in dividend distribution and corporate action support for tokenized assets. As reported by PANews, the platform now directly connects to US stock liquidity pools such as Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange, offering liquidity comparable to traditional brokers. Stock dividends are distributed to user accounts as tokens on a 1:1 basis, while cash dividends are automatically converted to USDT. The platform also supports real-time mapping of stock splits and mergers to on-chain tokens, ensuring an experience highly consistent with US stock ownership. rTokens automatically reflect corporate actions including dividend distributions, stock splits, and reverse splits, with cash dividend payments converted to USDT and distributed to user accounts in tokenized format.
As reported by The Block, Reality is designed to provide users with access to markets that have traditionally been constrained by geography, trading hours, fragmented platforms, and settlement barriers. The platform enables users to utilize tokenized equities as unified account margin to maximize capital efficiency. Bitget CEO Gracy Chen stated that Reality aligns with the company's '10% vision' by 2030, projecting that nearly 10% of financial assets could exist in tokenized form. Chen noted that stablecoins, faster blockchain settlement, and growing interest from major exchanges are pushing RWAs from experiment to market infrastructure. The launch comes as tokenized equities gain momentum across global markets, with investors increasingly looking for products that combine familiar assets with faster settlement, broader access, and around-the-clock availability. According to PANews, currently tokenized stocks account for only 0.1% of the $125 trillion global stock market, with Chen predicting this proportion will rise significantly by 2030.
Reality's technical architecture provides significant operational advantages through deep integration with Bitget's existing products. As reported by Foresight News, US stock tokens are deeply integrated with the Bitget ecosystem, serving as margin for unified accounts and compatible with core product lines such as grid trading, copy trading systems, and staking/lending. Users can buy and sell rTokens using stablecoins and other crypto assets, allowing them to stay entirely within the digital asset ecosystem. This means a non-U.S. investor with a crypto wallet can gain exposure to a U.S. stock or ETF without opening a conventional brokerage account. The platform maintains settlement and transfers on-chain, supporting near-instant movement of positions compared with the T+1 or T+2 timelines in legacy markets. Bitget plans to incorporate Reality throughout its broader exchange infrastructure to enable additional functionality, with users able to utilize tokenized stocks as collateral within unified account structures.
According to the latest announcement, Bitget has recently expanded its tokenized offerings portfolio. The company launched IPO Prime last month, a subscription-based market for pre-IPO tokenized allocations. Currently, Bitget offers access to more than 100 tokenized stocks, ETFs, commodities, FX, and gold. The broader tokenization trend has gained significant attention from traditional finance analysts, with JPMorgan's global head of ETF product Ciarán Fitzpatrick suggesting that tokenization will drive market changes across the funds industry. By bridging directly into U.S. equity pools, the protocol supports deep liquidity, institutional-scale entries and exits with optimized slippage, matching traditional order-book efficiency. While Reality launches initially with U.S. equities, Bitget has outlined plans to incorporate additional asset categories, positioning the platform as a comprehensive gateway for global financial instrument access.
