Shares of Zen Technologies gained nearly 4 percent in morning trade on Wednesday after the defence technology company announced the launch of its Integrated Smart Border Suite (ISBS), an AI-driven border security solution. According to NSE data, the stock was trading at ₹1,666, up ₹63.20 or 3.94 percent, at 11:05 am on Wednesday. The positive market reaction reflects investor confidence in the company's strategic positioning in India's border security modernization initiatives.
The company shared details of the platform in an exchange filing days after Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced plans for a nationwide 'Smart Border' initiative covering nearly 6,000 km along the Pakistan and Bangladesh borders using drones, radars and advanced surveillance technologies. As reported by the company, the Integrated Smart Border Suite has been designed to tackle threats such as illegal infiltration, drone-based smuggling, narco-terrorism and hybrid warfare activities along India's western and eastern borders.
According to the company filing, the system includes AI-powered anti-drone technologies with both soft-kill and hard-kill capabilities, available in vehicle-mounted, portable and fixed variants. The suite features AI-enabled loitering munitions for surveillance and precision strike operations, interceptor drones to track and neutralise hostile UAVs, and unmanned ground vehicles for reconnaissance and tactical missions. Additionally, it integrates remote-controlled weapon stations equipped with electro-optical sensors, thermal imaging and fire-control systems, along with long-range electro-optical and thermal surveillance systems for all-weather monitoring.
Reacting to the development, Chairman and Managing Director Ashok Atluri emphasized the transformation in India's border security architecture. He stated that the country's border security is undergoing a fundamental shift from static, manpower-intensive deployments to intelligent, autonomous and technology-driven protection systems capable of responding to dynamic and asymmetric threats in real time. Atluri highlighted that Zen's Integrated Smart Border Suite represents an indigenous AI-enabled ecosystem that seamlessly integrates anti-drone systems, autonomous surveillance, precision-response platforms and real-time situational awareness into a unified operational grid.
