Wipro has appointed Angan Guha as president and chief executive officer of its Americas 2 strategic market unit, effective December 8, 2026. According to reports from Business Standard, Guha will report directly to CEO and managing director Srini Pallia and serve on the executive leadership team. The appointment marks Guha's return to Wipro after spending nearly 29 years at the company before joining Birlasoft as CEO and managing director in 2022. As per Wipro's announcement, Guha brings over 34 years of experience in technology and business leadership, including a significant tenure at Wipro where he held several senior leadership positions, including CEO of the Americas 2 Business Unit. Guha previously served as Global CEO & Managing Director of Birlasoft Ltd., where he led the company through a period of significant growth and value creation.
In his new role, Guha will focus on enhancing business and market momentum across Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI), Energy & Utilities, and Manufacturing sectors. As reported by Business Standard, he will be responsible for accelerating growth, strengthening client relationships, and delivering increased value to clients in the region. The appointment comes as Wipro seeks to strengthen its position in the Americas market through experienced leadership, with analysts viewing this as a strategic move to bolster market presence in a region with significant growth potential. Guha has managed large businesses with significant P&L responsibility, overseeing key industry verticals such as BFSI, Energy & Utilities, Manufacturing, Hi-Tech, and Canada Operations, with a proven track record in implementing large-scale digital and AI transformation programs.
