Electric vehicle maker VinFast India announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with Shriram Finance Ltd for retail vehicle finance services. According to reports from PTI, the two companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate this collaboration. The development comes after VinFast's recent entry into the electric multi-purpose vehicle segment in India with the launch of the VF MPV 7. The financing tie-up complements other initiatives such as assured resale and structured buyback programmes, which are designed to make EV ownership more accessible.
The partnership will provide VinFast customers with up to 100% on-road funding through Shriram Finance's tailored financing solutions. As reported by PTI, these financing options include attractive interest rates and flexible repayment options across VinFast's entire product portfolio. The collaboration aims to simplify EV ownership and accelerate adoption of electric vehicles in the Indian market, with buyers able to avail financing solutions including funding of up to 100 per cent of the on-road price, along with flexible repayment structures and competitive interest rates across the product range.
The partnership will enable VinFast to leverage Shriram Finance's extensive pan-India presence and deep expertise in vehicle financing. According to the statement, the collaboration will provide strong customer reach across urban, rural, and semi-urban markets throughout India. Shriram Finance, one of India's largest retail non-banking financial companies, has over 9 million customers and maintains a network of more than 3,000 branches. This extensive network will help VinFast expand its EV financing accessibility nationwide, as reported by ETAuto.
VinFast India CEO Tapan Ghosh stated that the partnership reflects the company's continued focus on removing barriers to EV adoption by improving financing accessibility and enabling a smoother ownership experience for customers across markets. Shriram Green Finance President & National Business Head Nandagopal emphasized that this association reflects their shared vision to accelerate EV adoption and support the development of a stronger green mobility ecosystem across the country. Ghosh added that India's transition to electric mobility would depend not only on product offerings but also on the strength of the supporting ecosystem, with the partnership aimed at improving financing accessibility for customers.
