Vertex Securities reported a standalone net loss of ₹49.16 lakh for Q1 FY27, marking a significant improvement from the ₹1.26 crore loss recorded in Q4 FY26. According to the company's unaudited financial results approved by the Board on July 30, 2026, this represents a 61% quarter-on-quarter reduction in net losses. On a consolidated basis, which includes Vertex Commodities and Finpro Private Limited, the net loss was ₹40.40 lakh compared to ₹1.44 crore in the previous quarter. The company's revenue from operations stood at ₹1.68 crore in Q1 FY27, slightly down from ₹1.59 crore in Q4 FY26, while total income increased to ₹1.82 crore from ₹1.54 crore due to higher interest income of ₹18.67 lakh.
The company's fees and commission revenue increased to ₹1.63 crore from ₹1.56 crore in the previous quarter, while income from depository participant operations dropped to ₹5.56 lakh from a negative ₹5.58 lakh in Q4 FY26, indicating volatility in this segment. Interest income also declined to ₹9.30 lakh from a negative ₹11.41 lakh in Q4 FY26. As reported by Business Standard, this revenue contraction contributed to the overall financial challenges faced by the company during the first quarter of FY27.
The most significant aspect of Vertex Securities' Q1 FY27 performance is the 17% quarter-on-quarter reduction in total expenses to ₹2.31 crore from ₹2.80 crore in Q4 FY26. Key drivers included a sharp drop in fees and commission expenses to ₹72.37 lakh from ₹99.28 lakh, and other expenses falling to ₹66.74 lakh from ₹86.27 lakh. Employee benefits remained stable at ₹82.86 lakh, while the company successfully curtailed discretionary costs, particularly in fees and commissions and other expenses. This operational efficiency directly contributed to the 61% quarter-on-quarter reduction in net loss, demonstrating improved cost management despite a challenging top-line environment.
