According to reports from The Economic Times, the stock has rallied about 31% during this period, demonstrating strong investor confidence following the company's robust quarterly performance. The latest market data shows continued positive momentum with the stock trading in positive territory during Monday's session.
The company reported impressive financial metrics for the quarter, with revenue from operations reaching ₹971 crore, representing a 24% increase from ₹780 crore in the same period last year. As reported by The Economic Times, same-store sales growth stood at 12%, with V-Mart at 12% and Unlimited at 9%. The company noted that these figures are provisional and subject to review by its statutory auditors.
V-Mart maintained its aggressive expansion approach during the quarter, opening 29 new stores while closing 6 stores, bringing the total store count to 577 as of March 31, 2026. According to the company's exchange filing, this represents the highest-ever annual additions with 92 new stores opened and 12 closed during the year. The quarterly additions were concentrated in Uttar Pradesh (11 stores), Tamil Nadu (4 stores), Bihar and West Bengal (3 each), and Jharkhand (2 stores).
The current strong performance follows a significant turnaround in the December 2025 quarter, where V-Mart posted a net profit of ₹87.99 crore compared with a loss of ₹8.87 crore in the preceding September quarter. As reported by The Economic Times, revenue from operations rose to ₹1,126.38 crore during the quarter, up from ₹1,026.73 crore in the year-ago period, while EBITDA improved significantly to ₹209.50 crore from ₹71.51 crore in the previous quarter.
Despite the recent sharp gains, V-Mart Retail shares are down 25% in the last six months and about 11% since the beginning of the year, according to The Economic Times. In the last 12 months, V-Mart shares are down 20%, indicating that the current rally represents a significant recovery from recent performance challenges.
