Triveni Power Transmission Limited (TPTL) has successfully listed its equity shares on the BSE and NSE following the demerger of the power transmission business from Triveni Engineering & Industries Limited (TEIL). According to reports from The Economic Times, the demerger was executed under a Composite Scheme of Arrangement approved by the National Company Law Tribunal, with the scheme becoming effective on May 19, 2026. April 1, 2026, was designated as the appointed date for the demerger, marking the formal separation of the power transmission operations into an independent listed entity. The company listed 10.47 crore equity shares with a face value of ₹2 each on both exchanges, with shares trading on BSE under scrip code 544824 and trading symbol TRIVENIPT.
Under the demerger scheme, eligible TEIL shareholders received one fully paid-up equity share of TPTL with a face value of ₹2 for every three fully paid-up equity shares of TEIL held as of the record date of July 22, 2026. As reported by The Economic Times, this exchange ratio was designed to distribute the power transmission business to existing shareholders while creating a separate listed entity focused on specialized power transmission solutions. The company has listed 10.47 crore equity shares with a face value of ₹2 each on both BSE and NSE.
Tarun Sawhney, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of TPTL, stated that the listing marks an important strategic milestone in the company's journey. According to The Economic Times, the demerger and independent listing create a platform for sharper business focus, more transparent performance evaluation and independent growth, providing an opportunity to unlock value for shareholders over the long term. As an independent listed company, TPTL is well positioned to pursue its distinct growth agenda with greater agility and disciplined capital allocation, building on its legacy of engineering excellence to invest in technology, talent and capabilities to deepen presence across industrial, marine and defence applications.
TPTL operates as a manufacturer of high-speed gearboxes and engineered power transmission solutions, serving global original equipment manufacturers, engineering, procurement and construction companies, and industrial customers across multiple sectors. As reported by The Economic Times, the company's portfolio includes high-speed and niche low-speed gearboxes, aftermarket services, refurbishment, upgrades and lifecycle support for critical industrial applications. The business serves sectors such as power generation, oil and gas, chemicals and fertilisers, steel, cement, sugar and distillery, marine and defence. TPTL's integrated offerings cover new equipment, retrofits, replacements, upgrades, refurbishment and long-term aftermarket services, spanning the entire lifecycle of power transmission equipment.
Rajiv Rajpal, CEO of TPTL, emphasized the company's focus on building on more than five decades of experience in power transmission engineering. According to The Economic Times, the company's focus remains on delivering application-specific solutions, strengthening lifecycle support for its installed equipment base and expanding in high-value industrial and defence segments. The listing provides a separate platform for the power transmission business as it pursues its growth plans as an independent company, with offerings spanning new equipment, retrofits, replacements, upgrades, refurbishment and long-term aftermarket services. The demerger enables TPTL to operate as a focused entity, aligning its strategy, investment priorities and operating capabilities with the specific opportunities of the power transmission business.
