Transrail Lighting shares rallied 3.85% to ₹531.95 following the announcement of new international orders worth ₹459 crore, primarily in its transmission and distribution (T&D) business. According to reports from Livemint, the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company secured the orders mainly comprising EPC projects for construction of Transmission Lines in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, reinforcing its position as a global player in power transmission infrastructure. The gains were supported by robust trading volumes, with around 11 lakh equity shares changing hands compared to its one week average of 7 lakh shares. Following these latest wins, the company's FY27 order inflows have reached ₹1,034 crore, significantly boosting its overseas order book and growth pipeline. The order wins further strengthen the company's international order book and position in international T&D markets, with these EPC projects for transmission line construction strengthening the company's unexecuted order book and reinforcing its global footprint as a prominent T&D EPC player.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Randeep Narang said the fresh contracts reflect customer confidence in the company's engineering and execution capabilities and strengthen its position in international T&D markets. As reported by Livemint, the MD & CEO emphasized that "The order wins mainly include EPC projects for construction of Transmission Lines in the MENA region which further strengthens the company's international order book. These wins reinforce Transrail's established capabilities in executing large transmission infrastructure projects across global markets." The company also highlighted a healthy bidding pipeline across domestic and overseas markets, which it expects will support long-term growth. Narang added that "With a strong unexecuted order book and a healthy bidding pipeline, we remain well positioned to sustain our growth momentum while continuing to deliver projects with operational excellence and maintaining our focus on profitable growth." The latest order win comes weeks after Transrail announced fresh contracts worth ₹575 crore across its transmission and distribution, civil construction and pole businesses, including a 500 kV high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission line project. The company currently holds L1 status in projects worth around ₹400 crore, providing further visibility on potential order additions.
In a separate development, Transrail's board on June 22 approved the acquisition of a 100% equity stake in Gactel Turnkey Projects from Ajanma Holdings. According to Moneycontrol, the board also approved the execution of the share purchase agreement and other transaction documents, subject to the fulfilment of customary conditions and regulatory approvals. This strategic acquisition is expected to strengthen Transrail's capabilities in the turnkey projects segment and expand its service offerings in the power transmission infrastructure sector. Following the latest order wins, Transrail Lighting shares are likely to remain in focus as investors respond positively to the company's strengthened order book and growth prospects in international markets.
Transrail Lighting operates as a turnkey EPC company focused on power transmission and distribution projects, also operating in civil construction, railways, solar EPC, and poles and lighting. As reported by Business Standard, the company has a presence in 63 countries across five continents and operates manufacturing facilities in India for transmission towers, conductors and monopoles. However, the company's recent financial performance showed some challenges, with consolidated net profit declining 24.14% to ₹96.50 crore on a 3.94% drop in revenue from operations to ₹1,831.45 crore in Q4 FY26 over Q4 FY25. Despite these quarterly results, the company's strong order book position and international expansion strategy continue to attract investor interest. Transrail Lighting share price has risen 9% in one month and has gained 10% in three months, though it has fallen 8% in six months and dropped nearly 21% in one year, according to Livemint.
