Transchem Ltd's stock has delivered exceptional returns of 527% over the past year, with shares currently trading at around ₹320.25 after a recent decline of 1.12% from the previous close of ₹323.90. The stock has also gained approximately 73% year-to-date, representing one of the most significant stock price movements in the Indian market. According to reports from The Economic Times, this sharp divergence in returns reflects the company's strategic transformation from its traditional business activities to a new financial services platform.
Transchem was originally engaged in chemicals and pharmaceuticals before expanding into mushroom cultivation and trading operations. The company's mushroom undertaking was eventually sold, while trading activity was declining in FY26. As reported by The Economic Times, the company amended its objects in October 2025 to include securities and commodities broking, financial advisory and consultancy, portfolio and investment-related services, research and analytics, depository-participant activities and other allied businesses. The company had not commenced broking or financial-services operations as of March 31, 2026.
According to the company's annual report, revenue from operations fell to nil in FY26 from ₹2.63 crore in FY25. Total income for FY26 was ₹9.26 crore, down from ₹11.16 crore a year earlier. Profit after tax stood at ₹4.30 crore against ₹5.23 crore in FY25. As reported by The Economic Times, FY26 income was largely driven by interest income from inter-corporate deposits, which contributed ₹7.68 crore to other income, while a property sale generated a gain of ₹1.57 crore.
The company completed the ₹25.91 crore Greshma Shares acquisition and raised funds through warrants as part of its strategic shift towards financial services. According to reports from The Economic Times, this acquisition and funding activities are supporting the company's transition from its previous business model to its new financial services platform, though actual broking operations have not yet commenced.
